Blair ... "told House Republicans to stop talking about “mass deportations”"

There really aren't words for these guys. Yo, buddy, take it up with that ugly bald guy in the office next to you.

How long has MwM been lobbying for DHS Sec? At least months, probably back into last summer. This guy has never spent a day in uniform but he's all about the stench of war. That's because his vision for American Carnage 2026 is so vivid. This guy is locked and loaded. The only time these fascists back off the chest thump (and lying) is when they're going in for confirmation hearings. Why? The show must go on.

Marky-Mark needs to be on the undercard for the July 4th White House Octagon. Cosplaying with WWE won't cut it. You need to at least come off the top rope stud.

Maybe Mullin will be the straw that broke the camel’s back; Republicans voting against his nomination. Any Republican who plans on running for reelection should think long and hard over what their vote means to their constituents. Vote Blue in November!

Mullin for Noem is a change in personnel and style (probably no cosplay) but no change in direction. Plus, Stephen Miller is still calling the shots.

Senators should point out to Mr. Milling that judges, juries, court bailiffs, prosecutors, prison guards all face criminals everyday and are not able to hide behind masks. If ICE agents executed their jobs as most other law enforcement do, they would not need to be concerned about being doxed.

Trump and his supporters have been doxing judges, prosecutors and many others for years. They have endangered the families of many of those they have boxed. Maybe it's just part of life in these crazy times. Why should ICE agents be exempted. Just take off the mak and wear a badge with name and ID number.

Someone needs to ask this Cherokee how he feels about ICE scooping up brothers and sisters from other Indigenous nations, apparently because their skin and hair are darker than his.

Can't Linda McMahon find a gig for this dude in WWF?

If he's confirmed by the Senate, the Republican Senators up for re-election in November will be even more soundly rejected and voted out of office then they are now. We don't want another Kristi!

He’s too ignorant to know how stupid he is!

Perfectly titled, informative, unfortunate article.

He's an unbashed liar and proud of it. Here he says knives and blunt objects murder more people than guns to Lara Trump and then posts it . He knows better, he just doesn't care.

How am I supposed to take anyone named Markwayne seriously?

Maribeth's avatar

I wonder how Markwayne would feel if his wife was surrounded by dudes wearing masks and street clothes or even camo and dragged off the street. How is anyone supposed to know who is ICE and who is a rapist—on the other hand I have heard stories that they could be both.

I know all I need to know: Markwayne thinks it's fine that ICE murdered two American Citizens who clearly were doing nothing wrong. That's it.

Mullin may be popular among many of his Congressional colleagues, but one that he's reported to NOT be on good terms with is Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky, who unfortunately for him is the Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee.

I hope that there are many clips of the confirmation hearings. I expect them to be must-see TV.

What's supposed to be different? Let everyone who entered the country illegally stay?

Katherine B Barz's avatar

What is supposed to be different is knowing that a civil infraction does not warrant this treatment. That the people who are in charge of the laws, should know what the law means before they go out to enforce it. And most of all, of what should be different, is not to leave an elderly, half blind, does not speaking English, man at a closed restaurant in February, in Buffalo, NY, who is not warmly dressed. I would expect that they keep him safe until his family comes to collect him. Of course, if these people knew the law that they were to enforce, that man would not have been arrested, and he wouldn’t have died.

All of what Double -A said, and...

How about allowing those who are actively and correctly following immigration procedure to continue to do so, and not be dragged out before or after their hearings?

How about not randomly stopping people who may have more melatonin or speak with an accent and harassing them?

How about when they release those that they have "mistakenly" held that they give them their personal items back (phones, wallets, ids?)

There are so many things that could be done to properly execute the process in a sane, sober, non-sensational manner without going that far, e.g. not behaving like an unaccountable thuggish Gestapo-like organization, following ALL court orders promptly, prioritizing actual criminals instead of gainfully occupied people who entered illegally (or overstayed visas etc) and are raising families here without running afoul of other laws or becoming wards of the state.
