Orange Julius got tired of people telling him to be "intellectual" and "on message", so he brought in someone who would tell him how great he is, tell him he's winning in a landslide, and how he should keep doing what he's doing.

Steven Insertname's avatar

After all, it worked in 2016, and he THINKS it worked in 2020.

Susan D's avatar

He knows it didn't work in 2020.

TomD's avatar

But bravado is a pre-requisite to screaming about a rigged election later... .

Steven Insertname's avatar

I have a whole theory about that, and I honestly think he thinks he won.

Susan D's avatar

He doesn't only lie to the public, he lies to himself as well.

Steven Insertname's avatar

When he first took office, I saw a report that he got angry when people told him the *real* poll numbers and economic reports, etc, so they started telling him stuff that wouldn't make him mad (ie, lies). For four years, he thought he was super popular and everyone loved him and everything he did. Keep in mind that he has full-blown malignant narcissistic personality disorder (among other things, obvs), and actually believes he can, like, fix health care because he's Donald Trump (he decided he didn't want to, bkz it was too hard). His ability (and need) to piss people off and gin up controversy is really his only ability.

Susan D's avatar

One thing that Trump didn't seem to get in the last election was that there were Republicans who voted R down ballot, but didn't vote for him. When he saw the other Republican candidates won in areas and he didn't, he assumed Dems were changing votes at the top. He should have asked himself, though, if we changed his votes, why wouldn't we change the down-ballot votes too?

Please!!! He is her best salespitch to non-MAGA types.

like anyway.

But bruh. I don't get a beloved mall drink involved in this shit.

Steven Insertname's avatar

It's too fitting. He wants to neuter the Senate (Congress) and install an imperial dictatorship that will last a thousand years.

Susan D's avatar

The Senate has already been neutered. It's called the filibuster.

Steven Insertname's avatar

Maybe 3.5. The first one 80 years ago crashed pretty hard, and they still haven't figured out that their code is garbage.

"...but Lewandowski had to step down from the post in 2021 after a donor’s wife accused him of making unwanted sexual advances. Still, he remained on good terms with Trump and..." Lewandowski and Trump are fellow travelers.

3 days ago Tim Miller retweeted his original essay about the events that brought Corey down in 2021. Worth reading, if you’re unfamiliar.

Hortense's avatar

I read it. Of course, Corey is back. Trump is backed into a corner and he is lashing out. What better than to bring such a nefarious henchman back?

Timothy M Dwyer's avatar

A masshole disguised as a woodchopper masquerading as a cheerleader awaiting the next train wreck. What could possibly go wrong ??

unwanted advances: Check A selling point for employment for Trump

R Mercer's avatar

Trump is perfectly okay with sexual abuse/assault, so long as it doesn't affect his cashflow or can be hidden.

Hortense's avatar

His right as a celebrity, apparently.

R Mercer's avatar

They let you do it.

TomD's avatar

As I read it, sexual battery... ..

Hortense's avatar

I believe it was something like that. Fellow travelers...

I'm a bit confused about Kellyanne Conway's role. She just registered as a foreign agent representing Ukrainian billionaire Victor Pinchuk's foundation. It would seem to me that, given she is now a foreign agent, it would be inappropriate for her to be involved in a Presential campaign. But I guess not.

Timothy M Dwyer's avatar

Cmon, Dave! What’s a Trump campaign without a few Eastern European agents involved ?

SoCal Dave's avatar

true, how can I be so naive.

TomD's avatar

My pet theory is that rather than playing Robin to Manafort's Batman, Alexei Kilimnik was Manafort's supervisor in Kiev.--Putin's man on the ground.

Dave Yell's avatar

Bending norms and laws have never stopped Trumpster before.

David Court's avatar

There is nothing, absolutely NOTHING that "would be inappropriate ... to be involved in (his) Presidential campaign."

The return of Corey Lewandowski is another gift to Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz. Like Drumph, himself, Corey is immature, undisciplined, and a raging maniac. Keep going, donnie-boy! You really do know what is best! 🤣

Hortense's avatar

Trump did promise only best and they would be well vetted. He delivered!

Dave Yell's avatar

And he has the "best words".

Linda 1048's avatar

Indeed, he did! 🌊💙🇺🇸

Dave Yell's avatar

Trumpster is his own campaign manager

Linda 1048's avatar

Teepee! Drumph just gave us another gift!

You gotta wonder where the big money boys are at this point in all this schlocky repeating of the same ole tactics when the opposition now is climbing ahead with the freshness of flowers and singing-out-loud vibes. He needs their help, but will they throw cash at a one tent carnival act with no new acts? They also gotta find worrisome their prime plum Elon who is making comments that are getting more out of pocket and more dipshit dour with each interview. Elon believes snorting guffaws is somehow a new, more intellectual way of communicating, in his special code of course, to be appreciated by only those who are on his special genius wave length.. When I watch him trying to carefully craft responses with special, etherial connotations to very simple questions, I keep waiting for the Twilight theme to come on and support his schtick.

Barbara B's avatar

The oligarchs are strengthening their plans to buy or steal the election. In their spare time they are continuing to prepare Jdvance to gather with the cabinet of 2025 alumni to oust Trump for mental incapacity or even get him to resign with a pardon.

Gerald Lewis's avatar

Interesting points. Makes sense to me. Daily Trump exacerbates them with increasingly dissonant eruptions. Also I have thought about assignation. When that completely phony assassination was staged, my first thought was wondering which side hired a shooter. Assassination is the usual way politicians eliminate someone they want rid of.

Musk and Thiel are strategic thinkers. Together they cashed in on PayPal, then again by funding Open AI's start-up in 2015. Getting Vance to be POTUS is their next project.

Lewandowski (why in the fuck is that in my autocorrect?) is there for the top spot when Trump fires either of Wiles or LaCivita, I would guess after the first debate. That's where I would stake my bet.

David Court's avatar

Good analysis.🤞🤞.

Adam Starr's avatar

titles and job descriptions are irrelevant with Trump. He has no discipline, no boundaries. He brainstorms and if he senses that someone goes along, he pulls them closer. If someone says something he like, they move further into the circle. But Trump world spins fast, and his attention span is short, so members of the inner circle can easily spin into a more distant orbit. Constant turmoil and instability or the natural conditions on an immature planet. Trump has gotten bored with some of the existing crew, so Lewandowski, Conway, and others may move into the core for a spell. Chaos will remain the natural state in the Trump universe.

Dave Yell's avatar

Just as George Steinbrenner was the real manager of the Yankees in 70's 80's and 90's likewise with the Trump campaign. (Trumpster)

Adam Starr's avatar

the similarity between George & Donald is eerie, but the Yankees had a better winning percentage, especially when one includes all the wackos Trump supported down the ballot.

TomD's avatar

Trump was in a way a cartoon version of Steinbrenner.

Dave Yell's avatar

Donald has one win to his credit (2016) When you consider how his senate endorsements have done, that percentage is nil.

Luke's avatar

Thank God. There was still a slim chance Trump could win.

Peter Summers's avatar

Trump’s rhetoric is tired. His politics is tired. I’m mean, how many times can he trot out the same bullshit. This campaign is just like the others. It offers NOTHING to Americans except Trump’s rich buddies. Lewandowski is just another campaign re-tread. He’ll fit right in. The world has moved on. It’s time Trump moved on and faced the legal system that he has delayed and delayed and delayed.

LiseAnn 🇨🇦's avatar

No matter who else the orange idiot brings on board, he'll remain the same unhinged pathological lying cretin spewing BS at rallies and "press conferences". I hope the damn Trump ship sinks with all his moronic enablers and stupid Cult!

Because Trump is going to Trump.
