Possibly the true conservative Republicans are waiting for the present crop of idiots to be voted out of office before they re-assert themselves. Time will tell.
Hilarious riff but it’s hard to believe that Tim wrote this in 45 minutes at a coffee shop. In any event, after clearing the coffee that had snorted up my nose, I was left wondering where I’d put my money on the 2024 GOP nominee among the following: Trump, DeSantis and “Other”. If it was even money, I’d take Other.
To recap, when the performative a**holery is directed at Democrats, it's hilarious. When it's not, they profess to be appalled at the behavior and bemoan that he's hurting the wrong people. Go ahead and be an a**hole and we'll cheer with delight. Oh then, "Oh my, what has happened to Trump and at his awful behavior".
We can see where this is going. They're trying to dump Trump and oh boy, nobody puts that baby in the corner. He will attack each and every one of them just as he did to his primary opponents in 2016. They know that the guy who had no compunction about trying to burn our democracy down won't hesitate a minute do the same to the Republican party.
We'll know the tide has turned when the Tucker Carlsons of the world start singing a different tune and exposing Trump's flaws (as if they've just surfaced). Once those stories start flowing, we'll have seen the effective end of Trump.
Great post; my ongoing hope is that the nation holds together long enough for Karma to inflict its well deserved vengeance on these grifters!! Such reactions give me hope their judgement is coming soon.
Please, can we let them eat their own? I’ve watched the Dems do it for years, and the more liberal media outlets castigate the Dem president for any and all “offenses” and repeat right wing blather, treating them as serious discussion points. All the while, the Repugnicans hang together and support each other’s descent into insanity, unreality, and insurrection. This is what I’ve been waiting for
I'm not one to defend the indefensible DeSantis, but he never barged into the dressing room of Junior Miss contestants hoping to catch the girls undressed... (yeah, the other guy reportedly did).
