I am horrified by this cruelty to fellow human beings. This country has become unrecognizable in under a year. It’s like being in the vise of a monster.
We are failing to see people as people with one ethnic group seeing themselves as better than others. It just doesn’t make sense, especially in the US, where we are all immigrants by 2nd, 3rd, 4th generation. Who decides whose ethnicity is better than another? If you are one of those people, where did that come from? This is mother Earth, where did this boundary thing come from anyway? We don’t own anything. Immigrants have mothers, fathers, brother & sisters, family, just like you do. It’s all so sad and shameful to our species.
Thank you. I've been following Nick Valencia News ever since you had him on. He is interviewing the people on the front lines of this evil oppression. Everyone please follow and watch. We owe it to ourselves to know and see the truth of the brutality being done in our names with our tax dollars.
I totally sympathize with the plight of immigrants as outlined in this article. However, I question the effectiveness that current strategies to change the situation have had and will have in the future. What I think is needed is a coordinated national organization that develop and implement strategies aimed at changing the minds of non-MAGA people whose minds can be changed with the right approaches and strategies that significantly affect the preparators of this horrendous situation.
I appreciate the Pastor's wise words and try to live by them. But it's so hard not to be emotionally and mentally affected by the horrors that I am reading about. To dehumanize others is a ploy straight out of fascism. I've never been the kind of person who wants revenge but I would love to see these so-called christians who are not living the life of a christian someday have to answer for the crimes they've committed against innocents.
I don't think I'd be nearly as graceful if it was my community bearing up under this. I admire these people's moral resiliency.
As for the question, are people do anything, I see it every day in my own volunteer work. I'm not going to tell people to get off social media and go touch grass because I think the connection we get in places like this *does* help, but it's also very universal by its very nature. It's not situated in a specific community, so you miss the hundreds of instances of people doing their best to stand up for "the least of these" if that's all you're seeing. Good news tends not to be news at all, at least until it gets to a certain level of big impact and notoriety. That doesn't mean it's not happening.
Whether they're actually being effective is another question entirely. The jury's still out there. But never forget people are still pushing back, even if it's not making it onto your social media feed.
A small spark of hope this week from the heart of MAGA-land, my nephew is a high school freshman. The other morning he pulled a flyer out of his backup and gave it to my sister. She said something about why he brings home flyers about immigrants and not his report cards. I asked what it was and she said it was tips for keeping the children safe from ICE. I said it was surprising to me that they even put out that information in St. Charles Parish. She said, they do it every year and it is the one handout Remi always brings to her. While it is terrible that such flyers have to exist, it's heartening to see it here.
The brazenness of the calculated brutality is accelerating to a terrifying level. There's a bold arrogance that comes from the knowledge of their impunity. Even more frightening is the fact that ICE is planned to be staffed and funded at military-like levels and detention centers are cropping up everywhere. Clearly this is the foundation for a massive state police force under the executive, focused on "the enemy within," which is not merely illegal immigrants.
Straight up. The detention center (as with the camps in Nazi Germany) will be the main prop of the Trump regime. What’s to stop them from moving from immigrants to minorities to political opposition? What’s to stop them from moving from concentration camps to labor camps to death camps?
ICE "agents" who wear ISIS/terrorist style balaclavas should not be respected, or even treated as legit law enforcement. Real police officers NEVER cover their faces. Resist, America. We can not let a Trump created gestapo destroy our freedoms and our country.
Thank you so much to Pastor Mason for the end quote and to you Adrian for the article.
“What I would say is that history is full of periods when we did not see light in the midst of the darkness. And just as we are surprised that this is taking place right now, we can be surprised by the light that comes, too,” he said. “I think that people can’t stop believing in what is good and right and pursuing it, and although there is no inevitability of an outcome that is rosy and hopeful, there won’t be that future if we don’t persist in pursuing it.”

the light shines in the darkness and the darkness didnot/has not understood/overcome it Jn1:5 (paraphrased)
you're on the right sidenand He is greater than our fears
when I was involved with a volunteer lost hiker rescue group we had a telephone chain
one calls two who each call 2 more -and the word gets out quickly

America seems to have lost its heart, soul, and moral compass. I am heartbroken.
How long before immigrants start forming armed brigades to protect themselves?

It’s hard to read, but that makes it even more important. Thank you for your good work and please take care of yourself!

I also worry about what could set off massive protests and/or massive crackdowns. We are sitting on a powder keg.

Tragically, most of the American people do not care about the deaths of "foreigners". They only care about their own comfort.

The answer appears to be "absolutely nothing." He who commands the military, the storm troopers, the treasury and the courts fears no real resistance.
