Has it occurred to anyone that Trump means to destroy the existing government? When he creates enough chaos, he can just step in, abolish what what ever is left, and declare himself the one in charge, just like Hitler?
Spot on , Tim! Congress has a long history of giving up power to the president. It would be good for you to find a historian to discuss the details why, in each case.
The GOP should hang with Trump for treason, willfully violating the constitution for purely political reasons.
I have no patience at all with people who are now rebelling against the Covid rules. Those rules were there to keep people from dying. You may only be here because they prevented YOU from dying. So, don't give me any grief over vaccinations or distancing or masks, because that just shows you up as a whining two-year-old who doesn't understand why things are the way they are and is going to pitch a fit because they don't like it.
Not just that, but because we have people actively pursuing evil in government, we might not have vaccinations and other medical treatments that keep you alive in the future. Their hostility to mRNA and other medical advances may well mean you are stuck with masking in public for years. Don't like masks? Fine. Tell the idiots to fund and approve the vaccines according to the scientific data and the recommendations of actual scientific experts.
Otherwise, Criminal Trump and his addled accomplices may be arranging right now for your miserable death in a hospital gasping for breath.
I think Tim missed the point of Tur’s question about Loomer. How did she know about this meeting? She is not in government. She does not have a security clearance (that we know of). She’s not read in to the program. She has no “need to know.” How did she find out? Who told her?
Sorry, Tim, but Republicans are not in favor of humans. They are in favor of money. You can't expect them to fund healthcare, because that's the opposite of their core values.
This has been the Republican position for years. It's only now come to people's attention because it is killing enough people and doing it publicly enough that the public is starting to notice.
And part of that is the decline in real buying power of wages. Before Reagan and the Republican onslaught against workers, most workers in the U.S. made enough to live on, and then potentially a tiny bit of disposable income. That's just not true now.
According to the Economic Policy Institute, worker productivity climbed by 59.7% between 1979 and 2019. But wages only went up 13.7%. And for the lowest earners, it only went up 3%. (Courtesy of Ali Velshi on MSNBC.)
Meanwhile, healthcare costs skyrocketed. Healthcare inflation has regularly outpaced overall inflation. We got ACA because this became a political problem when the healthcare sector grew to more than 15% of GDP, and today it is more like 18%. That money comes out of other sectors, like food, clothing, housing, and transportation.
You can't expect Republicans in Congress to get rid of RFKJ. There's no percentage in it.
They have to be replaced. Fortunately, we could get rid of every Republican up for election in 2026 by just voting overwhelmingly for Democrats.
That's what it's going to take to clean all the fascist Republicans out of government.
Tim, Super job of commentary and analysis on Kate's show. You made the critical point, Republicans fear Trump because he could decide their political fate. That leaves it up to us to remind them their fate is in the voters hands. And by the way, if your not paying attention, the voters are getting more pissed by the day. The Republicans in the Senate who brokered this catastrophe should be charged with conspiracy to commit treason. The Dems need to get ugly and let them know by name that they will not escape their much deserved punishment.
This is what I don’t understand. Why are these Republicans so afraid they won’t be elected again? More and more of their constituents seem to be angry about Trump’s destruction of everything. I mean I guess there are still enough people out there who will support Trump at all costs and vote out anyone against him. I’m confused.
Thank you! You are the voice of our outrage, Tim. Keep up your vigilance, but also please be sure safeguard your own health and love on your little girl a lot! ❤️
I'm outraged at the chickenshit enablers too and had to laugh with Katy Tur at the ending zinger. Regardless of what happened before, "You're not gonna go to a reality show clown." Good one Tim.
But perhaps some of these recent decisions - presidential immunity, the end of Roe v Wade - reflect the visions of a de facto head of the court who is not Roberts.

Slow clap for everything you said Tim.
I just got a notification from "Dr" Oz via the Medicare platform with "advice on how to stay healthy".
I immediately unsubscribed and reported it as spam.

Probably a Signal chat.
Maybe they could invite Jeff Goldberg so he can report on it.

Ya got it said, Tim! Well done! Clear and quick. Lots of info.

Change the name of the Republican Party to the Invertebrate Party.
Go Tim. We share your rage

The most powerful people on the planet have abdicated their responsibilities.
Looking at you, Chief Justice Alito.
John Roberts is the Chief Justice.
Yes officially.
But perhaps some of these recent decisions - presidential immunity, the end of Roe v Wade - reflect the visions of a de facto head of the court who is not Roberts.
I’m going to need everyone to boycott Katy because she’s awful but also fuck her both sides bullshit on the daily
RFK’s family tried, repeatedly, to warn us not to let him in the door.
