Best comment I’ve seen on this:

“Firing Kristi Noem and replacing her with Markwayne Mullins is like shitting your pants and running home to change your shirt.”

- Moe Davis (U.S. Air Force, Retired)

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

What Noem needs more than a fake job is a presidential pardon.

There is only one reason DJT fires someone,(this time Noem) and that is because he thinks it makes him look bad. As for her successor, MarkWayne not a war Mullen, the only change will be to make it all Quieter.( for publicity sake)

Markwayne Mullin? lol…that’s not exactly an upgrade from Noem, unless you’re looking for someone even more braindead.

I was at a demonstration this afternoon at a major intersection in Austin TX holding a sign simply saying “Kristi Noem fired!” The honking from continuous waves of cars s was joyous with delighted shadenfreud, however that’s spelled.

So you admit you were wrong. She will leave in March, not February. You should be ashamed of yourself. :)

To add insult to injury a new Bride of Frankenstein movie just came out and she would have been perfect for the part...wouldn't need makeup...Lewandowski too.

Dave Yell's avatar

With the breakup of Noem and Lewandowski, what becomes of AirFuck One?

J AZ's avatar

Does Cory Lewandowski follow Noem to Shilled Americans, or does Mullin inherit him as ‘special’ assistant along with the bedroom jet?

And so today noem spent all day on the phone trying to negotiate a high end security package with various rw media outlets so she can avoid the public's ire over her tenure as the soulless goon leader of dhs. but they weren't sure she can bring in the audience and so things are in limbo for her as I type this.... oh boo hoo noem. meanwhile other appointees had an uneasy feeling they couldn't quite pin down...

“Noem oversaw some of the most scandalous and unpopular policies of Trump’s first term…”

No, she didn’t: Noem was a member of the House and the governor of South Dakota during Trump’s first term.

Garvin's avatar

I think he meant to write "Trump 2.0's first year" there.

David Ehlinger's avatar

What are the responsibilities and budget of her new "job" as special envoy for "The Shield of the Americas"?

probably something to do with skimming money

Calling any woman a dog is feeding into todays social issues. I have no respect for Ms Noem but I'm not sure any woman in today's climate deserves to be called a dog or be put down. Lowers you and your readers to their level and not really productive.

willoughby's avatar

It's entirely productive.

For starters, women are tough enough to take a figure of speech. We are not fragile Victorian flowers who on the one hand wish to participate fully in civic life but on the other hand wish to participate fully in civic life ONLY if people are nice to us at all times, recognize how sensitive we are, and never say things that might trigger us.

Secondly, Donald's obsession with "like a dog" is well-documented and goes back years. He's used "like a dog" rhetoric ("fired like a dog, lost like a dog, died like a dog, lied like a dog," etc.) on figures from Mitt Romney, Marco Rubio and Hillary Clinton to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and David Gregory.

Thirdly, Kristi killed a dog. Also a goat. But mostly the nation focused on the sad death of Cricket the dog and not the poor nameless goat.

How is it possible you’re not getting the reference? Gimme a break. 🙄🙄🙄

Garvin's avatar

I suspect the writer is playing on the notorious story about Noem putting down her own dog when it became a problem. Now Trump has treated her in a similar way.

Dave Yell's avatar

Schadenfreude, Let me count the ways!

Howid's avatar

In Ms. Noem’s case, it’s insulting to dogs.

V J's avatar

well, she could've dressed more professionally, she drug women back to objects,

she could have worn a blazer anytime she was in jeans, for example

I suppose she wore a cross too.

JeniB's avatar

Not sure what any of that has to do with calling her a dog and "putting her down". Personal appearance was not the topic of my comment. If she chose to be objectified by dressing like a barbie it still does not justify "dog" references.

I'm upset with K Noem, have been for a long time, had such big hopes with two female governors in the two states abutting MN, K reynolds failed badly, as did Ms Noem, badly, well before she interfered with locating the bloated corpses or young girls dead in Texas. there is proof for that. I'm disgusted beyond all for both of those women, Kim Reynolds and her new ' fake religion and K Noem because of her background, nothing to do with a dog, she is a woman that failed badly

well before DHS

It's simply using trumps words, that is all, not about Kristi being a dog

JAMES ROY LEE's avatar

"Trump 'told senators and advisers he had not signed off on such a campaign,' according to the Wall Street Journal. Trump told Reuters, 'I knew nothing about it.'"

But why would we believe Donald Trump any more than Kristi Noem? They both lie effortlessly and constantly, but he is even more practiced. Trump may have signed off on it, and then later decided to shoot Kristi like a dog when he saw it wasn't going over well. Either way, Kristi so richly deserved her fate.

Not That DEB's avatar

Could've been Miller setting her up (for Kristi throwing him under the bus) so all he had to do was play the hearing highlights in front of the otherwise clueless boss to get her canned. No one out-grifts the Grifter-in-Chief.

Tim Ward's avatar

Noem is a caricature of a caricature of a vapid, heartless narcissist. Guess I'll stop there.

Gavin's avatar

Fucking great title 😂

Robert JS's avatar

I love the headline. It’s brilliant. You have to appreciate the satire. That expression “like a dog” has been used inappropriately and often by Trump. Lighten up folks!

I agree. Some levity is needed.
