I don't care why MTG is going on this week's rant, as long as it keeps the TRUMP-EPSTEIN CONNECTION front-and-center in the mind of every voter. Here's a guaranteed way to fight against the firehose of distractions: Remember how quickly the TACO nickname stuck? We can do the same with the nickname Epstein-Bestie Trump ... repeatedly. The optimal usage is to replace "President" with this nickname on the first instance of his name in every article, video etc. [WILL, a little help from influencers like you and the Bulwark gang could make a big difference.] For more about my rationale:

i think both trump as well as MS green are representative of the corruption in our political process.

we the people need to modernize our government from the bottom up start in our states

with few exceptions all of our representatives are transactional until Americans believe in their own citizenship and not just as renters of who owns the properties we live in now and seems to accept as normal. owners are the ones who pay the bill we are just renters

we can seize our country as citizens by paying each month one we have chosen treat such payment as we pay a utility bill or rent or mortgage

She knows how to bring in just enough voters to get re-elected. She hasn’t evolved. She plays the game better.

How stupid must her constituents be to keep sending her back? Are there no sane Republicans in her district?

If this isn’t the populist right, something’s wrong with the rest of them. She’s more true to the populist rhetoric of Frumpty-Dumpty than he is.

Greene is very good at compartmentalization. She has three or four key issues, Obamacare subsidies, certain tariffs, immigration excesses, and the Epstein files. She has indicated she is willing to work with Democrats on all these issues. She has done a good job of carving out the issues that are not in MAGA's best interests. I don't think she's betraying MAGA, she's attempting to save it as a viable choice for as many voters as possible. Like all self appointed saviors, it won't work out well for her.

I think of all the commenters, this resonates most as an analysis of MTG.

She will still stand behind Trump until she doesn't. She's a true believer in a few things that she loves MAGA for. Tim and JVL have said before, is almost better than the sycophants who go whoever Trump goes or Stephen miller.

Don't have to like her to work with her.

Whether this will help realise her own ambitions, shes probably shrewdly calculating that she think it will. Time will tell but as self saviours tend never to fare well.

Looking over Greene's entire public career, the thing that sticks out to me is a deep, deep need for attention. Back when the bulk of the party was trying to maintain some patina of respectability, Greene got a lot of attention by being very publicly ride-or-die for Trump, respectability be damned. Now that the entire party just does whatever Trump wants, she needs a new shtick. Presto, we now have heterodox-MAGA MTG.

Great column Will. MTG is just another talentless politician. Perhaps her voters, in a rural part of the State, are complaining about what she and her party are doing that actually effects them. Fear of not getting re-elected can cause posers to change their costume.

I know the primary topic of this Substack is MTG, but of course it can’t be glossed over that an important aspect of discussion in America is healthcare, and Trump’s hateful desire to remove the Obama subsidies - and her objections to that. I would love to know where I can find a treatise on the history of US healthcare, and the decision to implement a private version, rather than socialized medicine like we have here in Canada, and most of the developed world. Healthcare in the US is such a primary concern, and almost religious focus for Americans - particularly if they don’t have it. It is now interesting to see that even Republican politicians understand that the removal of subsidies would be catastrophic for millions of Americans. Who would have thought that any Republican would appreciate an Obama accomplishment! I never thought I would say this as a big L Canadian liberal, but I admire MTG’s efforts in going against the Republican tide. Let’s hope that Democrats take back the House next year to counteract any further damage Trump, and his cowardly Republican politicians, inflicts on the country, and MTG can go back to being the abrasive Republican she’s always been in her soul.

i think it started with president Truman the strongest voices against low-cost healthcare as Canada adopted for years came from the American medical association lots of money lots of doctors much less technology Americans loved their hometown doctor who often would visit their home this practice continued in many communities until the 60's it was Medicare free or low-cost healthcare for grandmas who were living longer that cost Johnson his presidency but did succeed but with immediate opposition popping up. later with affordable health care passed under president Obama and from opposition as just the same people ringing the same old bell. new players, visits from hometown doctors gone now insurance companies are defining our healthcare. Again we need to modernize even our healthcare put it back in the care of medical people and research organizations public and private

Didn't AIPAC spend tens of millions to get rid of Jamal Bowman and other "antisemites"? This isn't new to Israel. They get rid of anyone in America that speaks ill of Israel.
