I tell you. These military boot camp washouts and dumbkopfs in the Trump regime’s ICE Gestapo are as much of a danger to themselves as they are to the Latino residents of Chicago whom they harass in our neighborhoods.
Steve Schmidt said on his podcast a while back that he saw one of them on TV holding his weapon incorrectly. And it may be only a matter of time before one of these dimwits accidentally shoots him or herself or one the immigrants whom he or she is terrorizing in our city.
These ICE dunces are a menace to society. They need to find something constructive to do with their time, and stop being dorks.

This MAGA administration is basically wrecking the fabric of the country. A smart aggressive common sense immigration bill would have gotten support. This monstrosity is basically Steven Miller and the other blind followers and fanatics unleashed. They offer no solutions, cause more problems and distress, ruin lives and will be indebting the country and all for what? This is a nonsensical approach. Thoughtless.

It is amazing that today, before the eyes of a stupefied world, America (of all nations!) is in the process of recreating an independent SS military force answerable to nobody but the Leader. It is just a question of time before its members will be required to swear an oath of allegiance to him and the National Guard is disbanded. Then comes the lessons from the 1930s in Germany, a state of national insurrection is announced and elections suspended in ‘the interest of national security’ . Those who think there are going to be midterms are dreaming

I do think people are waking up. The cruelty, the inhumanity, the unnecessary force is too much for even the folks who supported Trump's campaign promises of mass deportation.

And it is hard to imagine that non-Jewish Germans hated Jews as much as the MAGA crowd, in which I would place the hypocrites like mealy mouthed Mike Johnson, hate Latinos.
I think we have big trouble ahead. The Dems have no leadership, and no game plan, and the courts are being neutered by SCOTUS.
Shout out to Marcela Garcia of the Boston Globe! I’ve been reading her portraits and editorials for years and find her to be as informative and emotive as any journalist in the country (present company excluded of course!).
She has been banging on the drum for years - offering factual explanations and offering/championing a rational explanation for inclusion in a tough locale. I have corresponded with her on a few occasions over the years and have always felt her reporting was factual, enlightening and compassionate. Thank you, Sir for emulating and magnifying (for a different audience) her style here at the Bulwark!
Thank you Adrian for your invaluable reporting. I was born and raised in SoCal, and spent all but 5 of my 66 years on the border (hubby did a PhD at UW). We currently live in McAllen, TX. I've been involved in the tent city in Matamoros during Trump 1.0. We're moving to our house in Black Mountain, NC. I'm already plugged in with the local immigrant issues.
I think the comparison between today in the US and Germany in the 30s only goes so far. However, if the people do not wake up and recognize what is happening, anything can happen. That’s why it’s vital that Trump and his staff are not allowed to manipulate the midterms. And as an aside to all this, hopefully the pundits that say, the Democrats are incompetent and-screwed. Are incorrect.
