Sorry but I disagree about Afghanistan. Bush could have simply gone into Afghanistan and captured Bin Laden. Instead he started a 20 year war. And that doesn't even include Iraq, a war started on the false premise, that they had nuclear weapons. There were some demonstrations protesting the Iraq war back in 2003 but certainly nothing like the protests against the Viet Nam war.

IтАЩm certainly not going to argue that Bush handled almost anything about Afghanistan or Iraq particularly well. He was surrounded by people who wanted to find any excuse they could to go after Saddam and saw Afghanistan as something between a distraction and a pretext. That said, 9/11 was nonetheless an act of war that demanded a response. A better response than we gaveтАж but a response, nonetheless.
