Good news on the Ukrainian children database. Of all the bad news, cancelling that contract/program was one of the worst.

“What better way to escape the winter doldrums and the constantly dour news cycle, but with false hope that a team you love is going to win the World Series?” Was on a bus headed to downtown Seattle this afternoon that was full of hopeful Mariners fans. We’ve been hoping for a long time. Still a lot of smiles, though.

on Elise Stefanik... I was on Capital HIll lobbying for the FSPAC in 2018. This was just after Harvard closed the single sex fraternities and sororities. Elise, a Harvard grad, was our sherpa of sorts. She was wonderful to work with. It is distressing what she has become

The Stefanik situation falls into the category of, love to see bad things happen to bad people. She sold her soul and this is her just reward, may it continue.

t***p is an amoral sociopath. He always has been, in his first term there were enough sane people around him to keep him in check, not so this time. He has many in his orbit who see the world as he does, Russel Vought, Kristi Noem and of course Elon. Make no mistake unless congress acts we are done.

My Giants took the openers from the Reds but I grew up a Big Red Machine fan. Pete Rose and Johnny Bench were who we wanted to be in our back yard busting windows with a hard hit ball.

Go, Reds! With Tito in charge, we may break a 30-year absence from winning playoff series.

if there is anything on gods green earth more dreary than a CEO vanity publishing his “philosophy “ it is when that CEO is a tech bro. Damn those simple minded gasbags wheezing on about “power” and “the West” blah blah. And the majority of what passes as thought through their drug and money addled minds is culled from blogs, podcasts, video games and late night adolescent talks with other undateable wankers in high school.

Tom Nichols has long said that many of these GOP House members don't want to go back to their home districts, and that's definitely the case with Elise. I think she was desperate to get out of Upstate New York and go spend all of her free time in upscale restaurants in New York City away from the common man. Not happening now. Six years of doing all of those cringey "Trump thumbs up" pictures for nothing.

Practically the only good thing to happen in the last couple months is watching her ambitions crumble.

I’m not sure Trump et al realize how much hate and anger they are generating. They want to bully everyone into submission.

How is that working? No one has seen the real results of the DOGE fiasco. The resistance it generated tanked Tesla stock. Telsa autos have become a badge of shame. I don’t think it this will ever change. Was just absorbed into xAI to hide its massive loss.

Trumps attempt to bully Canada backfired. They have developed an alternative future partnering with Europe, which is also separating from the US.

‘Blue’ states are aligning against him. Trumps ‘sphere of influence’ has shrunk to the Red states. The Republican party is shrinking to a small number of maga extremists. Republican leaders are now seen as feckless spectators.

Coercion creates moral resistance. Its not calculative. Its moral. Its lasting. It won’t go away.

I was at a Republican townhall last evening in Indiana. People can be gerrymandered out of honorable representation but they won’t be silenced. The dissent was righteous
