As much as I hate to say it, this story typifies MAGA and Trump… the appearance of toughness and the performance thereof is the point. It doesn’t matter who gets hurt. Fear of and hatred for “foreigners” is the point.

For anyone who wants to gain some insight into the ordeal Abgrego Garcia likely went through to get here, I definitely recommend the recent book "Soldiers and Kings" by a UCLA ethnographer.
America cannot possibly importune the government of El Salvador for the return of this man because we have no authority over them and El Salvador is a close ally who we cannot afford to annoy.
What about the $6 million paid vy the US to El Salvador to take the 200 deportees? We can't just ask for one of them to be returned for our generous payment?
"One of these individuals is a paragon of manliness; the other is an effete parasite." Amen. Real men love their wives and children as they are and are responsive to them. They don't just look to spread their seed in any willing or unwilling vessel and then forget about them. The world needs more Garcias.
