Hey guys.
I was in the live chat last night for Thursday Night Bulwark while Sarah, Amanda, and Tim talked about the aftermath of the Uvalde massacre.
All three of them have school-aged kids. Me too. As our reader Dee Dee remarked in the chat last night, having a kid changes you. Because once you have a child, you can’t help but see every other kid as yours, too. Which was partly why the three of them—and I—were so worked up last night.
Sarah, Amanda, and Tim had a really good conversation. They talked about despair and how to fight it. Specific policy proposals Democrats should be making, right now. The hurdles for crafting both state and federal laws that won’t get struck down by this Supreme Court.
Everything about this conversation was both painful and helpful. And while I know that’s not much of a pitch to you—come and have your heart ripped out while you try to think productively about how to make our world better—that conversation was so important to me that I want to share it with you.
So I'm unlocking last night's TNB so you can watch and/or listen to what the three of them had to say. What you can't see in the recording is the accompanying members’s live chat, which is pretty valuable. I like to talk to people in the chat when I’m not a panelist on these shows, because I often learn from our readers / members / friends.
