And he sometimes said Mass at a neighborhood cathedral in Rome for locals (not St Peter’s). “Is the Pope Polish?” came to the end of its usefulness during that time. Now we have Pope Leo XIV who has citizenship in Peru as well as US, likes Aurelio’s pizza on the south side of Chicago, speaks excellent Spanish, and corrects Vance on Facebook. I am so hopeful, considering that El Salvadoran and Venezuelan political leaders undoubtedly grew up Roman Catholics. And he’s a Sox fan! Play ball!
