I just got the part where Sony starts asking who Lisa is. You aren't the first example I have encountered of "Who is this very famous musician, who knows who she is?"
The musical landscape is very fragmented. So an artist can still be very famous and still not be on your radar. Asking why is this artist considered a big deal can risk sounding ignorant in this environment.
My favourite part of Hackman's acting was his voice and laugh. Genuine or malevolent. He could talk with a smile. He could scare with a chuckle. Just so good.
Did you mean to refer to 'Lizza' (Lisa) and 'Wicked' (Wiz)???
Hackman was in Bonnie and Clyde too.
He was in Postcards from the Edge too. Small but touching role as a movie director giving the Meryl Streep character a second chance.
I think of Robert Duvall as being on par with Hackman.

Mass Appeal is an underrated Gene Hackman film
