I've not watched the videos of either of these murders. I never saw the video of the George Floyd murder. I never saw the video of the Rodney King beating. I'm afraid if I did I'd never be able to get the images out of my head.
Heather CR said that 1) it looked like there were seven thugs who attacked him (OK, she didn't say "thugs"); and 2) they pulled the gun out of his BACK waistband 3) AFTER they had him down on the ground. Now that folks have had a chance to see the videos repeatedly, could someone tell me if this is indeed how it turned out? I ask b/c I think it's important to emphasize every single point of the egregiousness.
If there's any slots left Democrats need to buy a Super Bowl commercial and run an ad about the Miller Administration destroying the country. All the dark arts of terrifying video with Trump playing with his gold things and "President Miller" bringing chaos
PLEASE get Bill's camera fixed! Update webcam drivers to improve focus and/or have him adjust his distance from the camera, or get him a new laptop! Do *something!* All the other Bulwark regulars and guests are in great focus, so it's very distracting / annoying that Bill is perpetually fuzzy.
I’m so angry and disgusted and brokenhearted Two regular people, just like you and me, murdered in cold blood. There’s no confidence in this regime that justice will ever prevail.
Mainstream media is part of the problem they need to stop inviting these fucking fascists onto the Sunday shows and let them spread their propaganda for free. Why are they still acting like we’re in a normal time in a normal country
No one is talking about the fact that the earlier video he was directing traffic around the agents, protecting them. Also, I don’t believe his gun was discharged, you would have seen the agent holding it react.
I needed this, every moment of yesterday was spent trying to fathom this. Sam, your empathy must be even more acute than most of us since you and Alex are the same age. Horrifying.
I really appreciated this today. I had watched Sam earlier with a coworker of Alex Pretti that broke my heart. Thank you for having Adrian on. It's nice to put a face and voice to his words, which I read regularly.
If folks feel up for it, they can call both their U.S. Senators and urge them to withhold funding for ICE until: (1) ICE leaves the cities and return to the borders, (2) adheres to the standards promulgated by the International Association of Chiefs of Police, (3) Noem is impeached, because at least 2 killings have occurred on her watch and we cannot expect ICE to do #2 and #4 with her in office and (4) an independent investigation is conducted by federal, state, and local law enforcement on the killings in Minneapolis.
How about everyone calling their U.S. Senators and urging them to withhold funding for ICE until ICE: (1) withdraws to the borders, (2) adheres to standards promulgated by the International Association of Chiefs of Police, (3) Noem is impeached, and (4) an independent investigation of the shootings is conducted with federal, state, and local law enforcement.
Regarding officer behavior and the need for restraint - Many, many years ago when I was in high school, I had an older friend who enlisted in the National Guard. When he came back on weekends he would share with our group of friends stories about his training. One I will never forget was an exercise in maintaining position when confronted by protesters. The soldiers were required to stand at attention with their rifles slung over their arms as people posing as protesters would attempt to goad them. The "protesters" would get right in their faces and yell obscenities at them, call them baby-killers, insult their manhood, etc. and they could not move a fraction of an inch or change their facial expression. Even when the "protesters" spat in their faces they were not allowed to react at all.
The reason for this was that just two years previously some guardsmen did lose their cool in the face of protests and fired their weapons on the quad at Kent State University, in just a few seconds killing 4 students and injuring 9 more (one being permanently disabled). And even in the midst of an actual war, the majority of people in this country - even the hostile-to-protestors Nixon administration - was appalled and determined to never let that happen again.
But as we've seen, the Trump administration has no conscience, no shame, no regrets at all. They may not all be psychopaths like Miller, but everyone of them lacks a moral center, a reflective conscience, or any sense of duty to protect the American people. To Trump & Co. there are just two classes of people - the chumps who support them and the rest of us who deserve punishment - even death - for opposing them.
I'm done with the fucking lies. We've lived in lies for almost a fucking decade now and I fucking refuse to continue it. Lies about January 6, lies about Biden's health, lies about Epstein, lies about Venezuela, lies about Greenland, lies about masked government thugs. And I'm fucking done, I'm fucking done living in lies. So my Rep is going to SUBPOENA DHS to start giving us some fucking truth under oath about the killing of Rene Good and the killing of Alex Pretti.
She's going to do it because EVERY SINGLE DEMOCRAT AND REPUBLICAN IS UP FOR RE-ELECTION IN 2026. The House has the power to Subpoena people to testify under oath or produce records and can impose fines or jail time for failing to testify or lying under oath.
So call your representative tomorrow and let them know: either you will start subpoena-ing DHS officials and their records so we can figure out WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK OUR GOVERNMENT IS DOING IN MINNEAPOLIS, or if you won't do the right thing and subpoena DHS, then YOUR REPLACEMENT WILL.
There’s a fake Adrian Carrasquillo on here, fyi. User name is @adriancarrasqiullo

Democrats should have already been in Minneapolis

They want to generate outrage to grab more viewers. Same as they have Scott Jennings to lie and smirk in their panel shows.
