We got our own eyes. We got video. We have timestamps. We got receipts. Shit, we have dead bodies in the street just about every week now.We got smoke, blood, sirens, grieving mothers, militarized police, masked agents, terrified children, empty classrooms, censored books, shuttered clinics, cages, bombs, court transcripts, leaked memos, recorded speeches. Ain't nobody confused.
And yet, every fucking day these assholes get on the tube lookin' straight-faced, dressed in their suits, with their podium lighting and press releases and cable news chyrons, and they look dead into the camera and tell us we are not seeing what we are seeing.
They tell us all this repression and violence is “order,“ "safety," and MAGA. THEY LIE. Over and over and over again. They LIE because lying is the STRATEGY.
They want us to split our mind from our sense. They wanna create disorientation, confusion and cognitive fatigue so they can break us down. When people can no longer tell what is real, they start looking upward instead of inward and trusting their own perceptions. So they defer, freeze, dissociate, and comply with power. Now, you can rule folks through fear and dependency. And once a society accepts that, anything can be justified.
Y'all, LIES are the core technology of authoritarian control. Be clear, we are not watching misinformation. We are watching a regime training the nervous system of a nation to surrender its right to know what is real.
I'm trying to understand the multiple shots, 5?, by one ICE agent after Pretti was down and probably already dead. And how many ICE agents fired shots at this unarmed man? All I can think of is that it was an attempt to destroy/obscure forensic evidence. I wonder if ICE agents are informed about and/or directed to use these strategies.
One thing for congress to try is to require some specified level of training before an ICE agent is deployed; and to remove any agents from the field who do not meet these requirements. Also require an accurate, at any moment in time, list of agents (current/in-training) and their level of training and any psychological evaluations.
Re Epstein; I'd suggest congress require a special master and defund the DOJ until all the files are released with acceptable redactions.
I've been watching all these videos and reading posts from rightfully angry white people. They are shocked. They are outraged over yet another killing by ICE.
What we are witnessing is a moment when a people who were raised to believe the state ultimately exists to protect them, now realize the state can also erase them and then lie about it with a straight fucking face. But for these rightfully angry white folks, this realization is landing as “authoritarianism,” “police state,” "Nazism," “this is what dictatorships do."
They keep saying this because liberal whiteness has long located tyranny somewhere else. In other countries, other regimes, other histories, other people’s bodies. Not ours. Not to US citizens. Not white mothers and ICU nurses.
But for Black folks, state violence has never needed a new name. We didn’t have to wait for the language of fascism or authoritarianism to understand what it means when armed agents can kill you and then script your death into criminality and blame you for your own death. WE have been living inside that grammar for centuries.
What’s new ain't the state violence. What’s new is WHO is being forced to recognize its structure.

Now that the camera shows what our bodies have always known. Now that the lie is so naked even citizenship and white bodies can’t cover it. Now that you’ve felt, for one searing second, what it means to be disposable to the state.
Is it time yet to stop assuming the admin will operate properly? 2 citizens were executed by our government. not by law enforcement. by immigration enforcement. At what point did Americans become comfortable with a militia not under the department of justice and not part of state or local law enforcement roaming streets of America terrorizing its people? our tax $ are funding a militia force. How many border patrol and ice “officers” were part of Jan 6th? Does anyone know? why is an ICE or Border Patrol agent deputized to use force on anyone? A police officer could not follow a person shove them to the ground and then pepper spray them with no cause in masks and no body cam. full stop. we are so desensitized we focus on the killing of course but it should never have resulted in an altercation. This is a purposeful instigation of violence which is a pretext they will continue to use to interfere with free and fair elections. Anyone this brazen will not give up power at risk of retribution or justice.
No words. Preti was murdered. There is no honor no dignity no truth in this Fed Administration. Black American citizens know this playbook; its long how they have been treated. Whites (i am) are waking up. Good people no matter skin color will arise. It is building.
The tactic of telling obvious lies that everyone knows to be lies is a way of creating such uncertainty and confusion -- cognitive dissonance -- that is used in authoritarian and fascist societies -- it's a way to desensitize and demoralize us. Employing techniques like this in a society that has 250 years democracy - with all the freedoms that come with it - won't work. Americans are not a submissive people. This will backfire
I've nothing of substance to add right now, BUT thank you, all three of you (Adrian, Bill, Sam) for this video. I honestly think it is the best commentary I've heard or read about ICE or CBP and the US in general, and this latest devastating incident in particular. Special gratitude for Adrian and his work!!
We have now witnessed two cold blooded murders in Minneapolis. We have also witnessed Venezuelans being blown to smithereens on the high seas. (The Administration gleefully sends out videos of these killings). Part of me feels that they are trying to desensitize us to acts of extreme violence and cruelty. It is not going to work. Personally, I am experiencing constant trauma, and I’m sure I am not alone. Witnessing the violent death of another human being is gut wrenching. I will never forget these victims and their families and what they did to peacefully thwart the actions of an evil government. They are martyrs and heroes in my eyes. That it came to them losing their lives is an obscene tragedy. May the perpetrators be brought to justice.
George Floyd was smeared widely and repeatedly also. This is not new to black and brown victims of police killing.
