Does anyone have any idea if there is a mobile phone company that has good values? AT&T is out, TMobile donated to the ballroom, and it's hard to believe Verizon is actually standing up against Trump. I am not sure that we have any options since smaller companies have to pay the larger ones. We need a new ecosystem of companies that are committed to doing the right thing.
“...but it’s a good sign we’re starting to pick fights instead of reacting to things that just happened.”
Oh yes, this is definitely a turning point. The regime's whole plan hinged on their being able to so overwhelm us with their powerful shock and awe that we would just collapse in despair. Didn't happen. Ain't happening. Their little game of whack-a-mole has taken a nasty turn by which the moles have wrenched the mallets from them and started giving them a sharp little whack in the nuts with it. Skateboard-style doncha know.
Fear of Trump? That sound you hear is assholes puckering in the country's boardrooms coast to coast. Trump is finite, even short-lived. We will abide. And we will remember. And we will fuck them up, a lot.
Boycotts aren't for other people, they are for you. They are so you can go to sleep at night knowing your spending is aligned with your values. The people asking what good it will do are missing the point. Can you look at yourself in the mirror knowing where your money goes? That's the point.
I didn't buy anything on "Black" Friday or "Cyber" Monday but of course I got emails about how AI shopping increased by 800%! Then I realized that there was 0 AI shopping last year so the 800% increase could be only 800 people for all I know. Math, how we manipulate you into propaganda.
Thank you for a very enlightening article. Yep, we can protest with the withdrawal of our dollars as well as our voices. For most of us, boycotting some companies will hurt more than others, and some will be easier than others. Personally, boycotting WF and Home Depot will hurt bigly, but is doable. As someone with employment ties to AT&T I will certainly do what I can, especially with my voice with hope that other people can really help to make it hurt.
We haven’t purchased anything from Amazon or Whole Foods in six months, a major pattern shift on our part. I like Home Depot and leave a lot of money there, I recently made a major purchase my last for the foreseeable future. I have alternatives from local hardware stores which nearly always offer products for the same price, to local lumberyards, to other big boxes like Menards and Lowe’s .
We needed some home improvement items this weekend. We shopped at our local Ace Hardware instead of going to Home Depot. Our voices are heard through how we spend our dollars. Thanks for this article!! Love The Bulwark!
I am boycotting Home Depot and Amazon. Have also pulled the plug on Paramount+ and Hulu/Disney/ABC. I do not shop at Target, and have stopped shopping at Publix since they adopted an open carry policy. I don't have much power, but I can choose where my dollars go.
Home Depot's irresponsible conduct as a corporation goes back a long way for me. I remember shopping there in 2007 and not ever being able to get capable assistance in the store. I learned shortly after that, they had given a $210 million golden parachute to an incompetent CEO they had let go. Undoubtedly the easy path for them, just like supporting Trump and his idiocies!
pardoned by President Bill Clinton in December 2000 for a 1997 mail fraud conviction. The conviction stemmed from a kickback scheme involving American Honda Motor Co. officials, and his sentence included a fine, home confinement, and probation. The crime: Hendrick pleaded guilty to mail fraud in 1997 for his involvement in a kickback scheme related to American Honda Motor Co..The sentence: His punishment included a \(\$250,000\) fine, a year of home confinement, three years of probation, and a ban from being involved with his racing team. The pardon: President Bill Clinton issued a full pardon in December 2000. The pardon was granted shortly after a letter and donation from a former business associate of Hendrick to the Clinton Foundation attracted scrutiny from congressional investigators.
Yah, Democrats aren’t completely clean either, that’s why the Democratic Party is struggling. Voters are looking for better and that doesn’t necessarily mean an automatic vote for the other party.
Any chance for an updated article? Are these same companies still helping ICE?
I'm in.

In some areas/states, boycotts and protests have been occurring since June!
I loved the story about Home Depot and the customers buying ice picks. What a great way to protest. Wish there were more creative ways to do.

What matters with this administration is voting with your pocketbook- hopefully this is the beginning.

If you do not like what they are selling, quit buying it. Follow the money and cut it off at the source - us. Peasant revolt, anyone?
