Dems need to really get in lock step on this stuff. Schumer step down! For Gods sake. Agreed primary any one older then 70. Get a grip on this situation. The longer they flounder the worse it looks to the electorate.
The “old codgers” need to step aside and become advisors of experience for the younger candidates that step up or the Dems will just spin their wheels more.
I've been thinking about what the Democrats could ask for in negotiations that couldn't easily be rescinded. So budget requests are off the table, but what about a bill that they've been trying to pass? Perhaps voting rights or clawing back tariff rights from the president? If they demand that the bill be passed and signed into law (assume trump won't sign so they'll need enough votes to overcome a veto) before providing any support for increasing the debt limit, would that work?
The hate directed at Lauren is appalling. I was too busy listening to her intelligent take on things to notice how she was speaking. We think of men as being misogynistic. Some of the most misogynistic people I’ve ever worked with are women. I do think it’s older women who focus on inane aspects of other women. Older women and high school girls. Mean girls. Enough!
It is really easy to request that the older generation of Dems step aside, but that will not fix the problem on its own. What I believe is more critical is for the Dems to stop bringing logic and a "spork" to a gunfight. They really do play Lucy and the football and they have for a long, long time. The fact that Dems, in general, are incapable of a coherent message and a righteous anger that people can listen to and understand has also frustrated me for years. It was refreshing to see Hakeem Jeffries going off on Amy Klobuchar with a rage rarely seen among Democrats. He said, out loud, what many of us think. The party needs younger voices, true, but also must move to the middle where most Americans are to be found. The left, including the DSA, will not win elections, they will just condemn the Democratic Party to remain in the minority for a generation.
We may be at the point where blue state govs should suspend their own constitution to counter the redistricting, and let the voters decide next cycle if they approved.
Fun(!) Fact: There is a 100 MILLION-strong voting bloc in this country. This bloc votes the SAME WAY in EVERY ELECTION. THEY DON'T VOTE. This is the bloc we must tap.

The first Alabama game I went to was in 1984 when Vanderbilt won in Tuscaloosa. Now I live in Houston. Roll Tide?

It could easily be my age, but I am sad to say that I find it hard to listen to Lauren.
That’s understandable. Some folks have sensitive hearing. I was responding to the piling on I was seeing and some nastiness.
Very interesting discussion, thank you! I hope to see more Bill + Lauren conversations in the future. Lauren is a great addition to the Bulwark! :-)
Lauren:
You are just getting better and better and more comfortable in your role.
Keep it up.
You two were amazing. Ty!

Stephen A. Smith said on Bill Maher that he's considering a presidential run. Dude does NOT mess around.
But I'd rather Stephen Colbert.
The democrats need the energy that only a change in leadership can bring.

The worst thing about the redistricting thing is that Trump is in the Epstein files.
Run on CHANGING THREE THINGS: Healthcare for All, Fair Economy, and Fair Taxes. Dems: MAKE SOME PROMISES.
