Exactly, HistoricalHolli !!! I cracked up when he said he's a "front stabber", 'cause it was kinda mobby. But yeah, way more honest! Where's he been lately?
Why on earth would we believe people who have been lying for Trump for years on Twitter over an extremely believable witness under oath? If they want their side heard they've been given ample opportunity. Unfortunately the only word they know how to say under oath is, "fifth."
So, if Trump is back to praising the insurrectionists and damning Mike Pence, what are the chances that he is like a record stuck in a scratch, on an endless loop?
The Senate race could have been a shoe in for Republicans had they not gone for the crazy. Especially with their racist run off system. It's hard to say what enthusiasm for either man white supremacist Republicans will bring to the ballot box.
I don't know if Abrams will win but she is a messaging titan.
1. In a credibility contest, I believe Cassidy Hutchinson. "Period!" as Sean Spicer would say.
2. Let Trump's SS (great initials) testify under oath in public -- while they fervently hope (I doubt any of them know how to pray) that no one in the vicinity had a smart phone with a camera on it. hahahaha.
3. Ornato is now changing his story? He must think Trump's destruction of democracy is winning.
4. The two scariest things to me are these: (1) None of this is in any way at all surprising nor do these people any longer have shock value; (2) I can easily completely believe that Donald J. Trump wanted to be at the Capitol to see Mike Pence and Nancy Pelosi DIE at the hands of a mob, so he would be on hand to declare Martial Law Forever. It is as easy to believe as that he broke "our" plates in fits of pique: remember he was thrown out of grammar school for attacking a teacher? and there were stories about a toddler attacking his mother? and he decked Don Jr in his dorm room?
5. What IS shocking to me is that there have been NO consequences for ANYONE who planned this! NO Democrats with hair on fire. Not really. Business as usual for most of them. Thank heavens for Liz Cheney! (with whom I disagree on most everything else)
BTW...I would put a lot of money on the fact that neither of the guys in the Limo with Trump will testify under oath. For one...she's probably telling the truth. For the second and more important point...if they came to the committee to testify under oath...that would open them up to questioning about all sorts of conversations that they would have been involved in. I guarantee that their lawyers are telling them to shut up and quit saying you want to be under oath.
Clearly...this is more of the "boastfulness not under oath" strategy that apparently most of the GOP believe in and use nowadays.
So I grabbed a full bottle of Tums last night and placed them on the coffee table near me...as I grabbed the remote and....<wait for it>...flipped the channel to Fox News and Sean Hannity.
I lasted about 15 minutes as they were covering the southern border (of course). In 15 minutes...they must have said "Biden" about 30 times and always in a VERY negative context. When I say very negative...I mean like "he's the stupidest most evil man in the world" context. It was unbelievable and incredibly scary thinking that many in our country are lapping up this BS. Everything was his fault...even when we caught the illegals...it was shared like a LOSS rather than the fact that we caught them. The illegals dying in the semi trailer were Biden's fault.
Finally...the straw that broke the camel's back was when Mark Levin came on and gave a 3-4 minute rant on the hearings. Of course, what was first brought up was the Russia investigation and how all of that was completely false. Then he claimed that Cassidy had been beaten down and taken advantage of...and she was just saying what they wanted her to say, etc. He did this while screaming like a mad man.
These are scary times given that millions are watching this stuff and think it's all absolutely factual. Thank goodness I had my tums handy...
I echo everyone here in that Cassidy was so brave and I too am thankful for her courage.
I’ll be curious to see how the Secret Service was involved in all this.
While it seems like weeks ago, the 2nd (or 3rd) hearing where Pence wouldn’t get into the Limo with his secret service detail due to lack of trust draws an interesting parallel to the “out of oath” denial from Ornato on Cassidy’s trial. 🍿
Pat Cippollone knew J6 was full of crimes. And yet he defended the president at the second impeachment hearing and still refuses to testify to congress.
He's an asshole and I hope he goes down with the rest of them.
I am thankful for Cassidy Hutchinson; thankful for her courage.
Equally thankful that the people she worked for and with, who will now be desperately trying to discredit her, including the fawning fox personalities, have no knowledge of how to lead and are doomed to a life of being led. All the ‘big men’ around her then are cowering in their corners now.
I think when it's an abstraction that can't really be enumerated - you can't line up a bunch of "manhoods" and count them -- the singular form, "manhood," is appropriate.
One sign of the depth of the chasm into which the Trump administration had fallen was White House Counsel beseeching the youngest, lowest paid person anywhere near the Oval Office to do something... .
If what she relates is accurate, this will only help Trump, because his party has long since decided that it wants its leadership to be basically a gangster organization.

In election news: Quinnipiac has Warnock up 10 points for over Walker and Abrams tied with Kemp.

So maybe the Dems aren't as bad at messaging as people say (hope) they are?

You're a better man than I am, Gunga Din!
(This is Kipling, folks -- "Barrack Room Ballads." They are a lot of fun.)

What is the difference between Fat Donnie from Queens and a feces-throwing monkey?
Ketchup.
Pat Cippollone knew J6 was full of crimes. And yet he defended the president at the second impeachment hearing and still refuses to testify to congress.

It is so obvious that they all have placed their own well-being above that of our country.

Tim, I was surprised to see you write "...whose manhoods she held in her palm..." Wouldn't the correct plural be "menhood"?
I think when it's an abstraction that can't really be enumerated - you can't line up a bunch of "manhoods" and count them -- the singular form, "manhood," is appropriate.
There's a scene in History of the World Part 1 that says you *can* line up a bunch of manhoods.
At least if I'm remembering it correctly.
Instead of fiddling while Rome burned, Meadows was scrolling while Washington exploded.
One sign of the depth of the chasm into which the Trump administration had fallen was White House Counsel beseeching the youngest, lowest paid person anywhere near the Oval Office to do something... .
It's interesting that Trump's failed presidency was bracketed by two episodes in which he obsessed about crowd size. That's narcissism for you.
