What is Trump's End Game to be Master of the Universe?

This just about says it all.

Yesterday, during an extemporaneous monologue that Trump gave at a formal Republican Congressional Committee dinner, he rambled on for 2 hours spewing thoughts that popped out of his brain, unedited for chilling disclosures of how his warped mind actually works. Among his pronouncements was his boast that many countries are calling him and "kissing my ass... dying to make a deal" and pleading "Please, please sir, let me make a deal; I'll do anything. I'll do anything sir".

Anyone sitting through his diatribe could not escape concluding that we are dealing here with a madman. This is not about tariffs, or even trade. This is all about Donald Trump and his aspiration to be Master of the Universe.

I agree whole-heartedly. Trump wants to feel the power of the Presidency and the only way he understands that power is to have people, or countries, groveling at his feet. This type of tyrant does not represent American values. He went as far as to tell his Republican audience that other countries are "kissing his ass" to make a deal on tariffs. This disgusting attitude, unfortunately, is shared by a great many Americans, as can be seen by the cruel and ignorant comments made every day on social media sites. God help us.

Some may decide to do a bit of public capitulation and Trump flattery in the short term, understanding that is what the narcissistic man-child Trump craves even more than reshoring of manufacturing, and hoping thereby to reduce immediate harms to their countries,. But ALL are planning long-term payback. No one, friend or foe, wants to be treated the way Trump is treating all the countries of the world. Trump's belief that each of them should and will stand quietly ("do not retaliate!") as he punches them over and over is truly mad. And he has absolutely overestimated the "cards" the US holds. He has no understanding of supply chains or critical minerals and other resources that are not available in the US. China has rare earths, so does Canada. Canada has potash deposits the US needs for agriculture, etc., etc. For that matter, what if China decides to stop purchasing US debt? I am no economist, so maybe I am missing (and misunderstanding) stuff here, but at least, unlike Trump, I recognize my ignorance.

There will indeed be a reordering of global trade, just not the one that Trump imagines. Each country, looking to become as free of the US as it can be, will seek to forge or strengthen relationships with the rest of the world, including China, while cutting as many ties as possible with unreliable, untrustworthy, "governed by crazies" America. The US will be left standing alone and reviled and destined for decline, with its best intellectual talent in both government and academia, all those researchers who were fired or whose funding was cancelled, now working for the countries Trump is bullying.

Well, at least I hope that is what happens.

Trump has yet to name one damned country that's calling him to kiss his ass.

From where I sit, many are planning on handing his ass to him.

We are increasingly seeing that the only one Trump is deluding is Trump—once he won reelection, he turned on MAGA … and the world.

Other leaders might be “kissing his ass” but in their fantasies they are driving a stake through his black heart, is my guess. Same with his GOP audience.

If T was a king - King T the First, Reigning Over America- what would he be doing differently than he is? He is operating with all the power and prerogatives of a monarch, with nothing to stop him. We've asked ourselves if he was a Russian agent, what would he be doing differently than he is. Also ask, if he was The King of America, what would be different. From tariffs, to destroying the civil service, to revenge on 'enemies,' to declaring coal clean- it's all mad king stuff. This is illegal, that's illegal, and yet it continues.

He would parade around in his crown! That would be different for him and a life long ambition.

King Donal would be carried through the streets of Washington DC on a gold palanquin, preceeded by a parade of tanks and scantily clad dancing girls.

the parade on his birthday?

He'll have that opportunity in June when he authorized the military to spend $94 million dollars to hold a parade in honor of his 79th birthday. I imagine that the model for it will be the Nuremberg rallies.

And yet nothing will change until Republicans start pushing back. I didn’t listen to the 2 hour speech but from what I saw I heard a lot of applause from the audience.

I’m not holding my breath that Republicans are going to start pushing back but I am not without hope.

Those who didn't applaud, if anyone had the courage, would not be invited back.

L.D., as I’ve said on another thread - he is not “the” Antichrist (I don’t think?), but he sure is comfortable dabbling in that messaging!

No matter what he is “A Man of Lawlessness.” (Google it if you don’t know.)
