My vote for Deplorable of the Year is for Elise Stefanik.
I say this because she really did not have to sell her soul. And by the way, Elise is from the same background as me and my family. She could be a niece. We are both from the Catholic melting pot. I am Polish and Irish, she is Czech and Italian. (My nieces are Polish, Irish and Ita…

We also were strivers like her. So I attended a top college, my nieces did too (one just earned a PhD from Sloan).
Neither of us live in the Bible Belt so we don’t have to oppose evolution or even oppose science. We both a socially moderate. So her prostituting herself for a leadership spot was a clear choice for power and the brass ring over principals.
It is a shame. She could have represented a way for the GOP to go.
She’s smart enough to know exactly what she’s doing. And she’s far from the only one. The Ivy Leagues are overrated, when I look at the number of deplorables they have produced.
Why did she find the need to disgrace herself? Publicity, power, perhaps she could be the VP and Trump would drop dead? I guess she saw what happened to Cheney and Kinzinger and she didn’t eat that to happen to her — so the hell with honesty, integrity, and truth.
She also fell into the trap of running to one extreme as a salve to sooth her feelings of rejection by the other side. She kept having old friends roll up on her and chastise her for supporting a misogynist pig, so she stuck her fingers in her ears and sealed herself in the Trump propaganda space so she could just pursue her political ambitions without all that messy cognitive dissonance.

But now… she has to go.
