One question I have is why hasn't it pissed off any sane Republicans? Where are Romney, Collins, etc., state governors, etc.? Have they completely given up? A lot of rural folks like to hark back to the Wild West. Yet in the Wild West, guns were banned in towns, and bullies derided, arrested. Some channels are starting to show classic westerns like Wagon Train, The Lone Ranger, etc. People like Boebart, Cruz, Maissie, etc. would be called out for the idiots they are.
This is a good question, one that has dogged sane Republicans for six years now, and the only thing I can think of is fear. Democrats for years have had to keep security on hand against the more unhinged Republican voters, no thanks to the rhetoric coming from politicians and media personalities on the other side. Republicans who step even slightly out of line are finding that they also need security against these same people, who are their own voters. See the insane reaction and death threats coming to GOP Congressmen just for voting for an infrastructure bill 20 GOP Senators also voted for. What does the more deranged sort of Republican voter hate more than Ilhan Omar? Any Republican politician who utters the slightest whisper of apostasy.
