I am 70 and mad as hell. I am mad as hell at the government that sanctions these actions, the media that supports the lies, the politicians that have been happy to sell their souls for a ticket on the train.

I am mad as hell at my fellow citizens that buy into the lies, some through ignorance, others for the revenge of some grievance, real or imagined.

I am mad as hell at the apathetic and those who think it just doesn't mean anything as long as they can continue their life in a bubble.

I am mad as hell that my Democratic representatives talk the talk but together have done next to nothing to stop the train. I am mad as hell that Democrats can't do it alone, they need the help of some Republicans, and Republicans that know better lack the courage and the true belief in their country that tens of thousands of anonymous Minnesotans showed this week.

I'm mad as hell that I am almost insignificant in the fight. Today I donated to two causes supporting the fight, one in Minnesota, the other with a broader focus helping immigrants who have targets on their back.

I am disillusioned and disgusted. I am full of despair. It is hard to believe that this is where we are but it is our reality. It is exhausting.

My goal is to do whatever small tokens of action that I can and hope that many tens of millions join me. My wish is to live long enough to see these craven pieces of human garbage disgraced, ruined, and jailed as appropriate.

In Idaho, many of us stand with Minnesota and the people of Minneapolis. Those who don’t are in denial, and denial is fear. They see the collapse of all of the lies. They have been forced fed, and they cannot face it.

We are breaking through to the age where UNCONCIOUS OBEDIENCE is ending.

Thank God for the BULWARK team. JVL your message TONIGHT. Was full of grace.

Couple of thoughts

Pay attention to these names: Goode and Pretti. Coincidence? Maybe God is trying to make sure we’re paying attention.

It seems to me that we are in a civil war. We are as divided as we’ve ever been. It seems as though it’s going to have to get worse before we can resolve our differences. Not enough people are aware of what’s happening

I have been so angry today I’m actually wondering if my heart can take it. I know my nervous system can’t. I appreciate this community because the amount of people who can just carry on with their day like normal after an atrocity like this makes it so much worse.

JVL’s measured, pragmatic and thoughtful take is always appreciated as way the live coverage today from the Bulwark crew

The brazen lying and disparaging of victims is part of their plan. It’s deliberate. Just keep repeating lies. Pure evil.

I am despairing tonight.

“I can’t believe the news today. I can’t close my eyes and make it go away.” U2 - Sunday, Bloody Sunday

We only have ourselves to stop this. But I don’t know how to stop this.

By the measure of Alex’s murder, I suppose anyone carrying concealed ANYWHERE who happens to run into ICE may be shot, and I suppose that includes undercover detectives, DEA agents, off-duty police, etc. At this point the 2nd Amendment is no longer capable of fulfilling its primary function. And those who leverage the 2nd Amendment to protect themselves and their families will find the implicit intent they derive from it is basically useless … are they gonna pull out their weapon against multiple ICE armed to the teeth who demand access to their home.

In the immediate aftermath the answer is public protest and demonstration. No justice, no functioning economy. Don’t buy anything, don’t work, bring the system to a standstill. They cannot fire us all. In the longer term we need a truth commission, public trials, and long prison sentences for those who facilitated the wholesale destruction of civil rights, bodily integrity and life itself. If not, if we just hope it will ‘return to normal’, we perpetuate the problem and miss the gravity of the moment.

I absolutely hate emergency triads. They are always exactly on target, brilliantly written, and make me feel deeply ashamed. I feel helpless and hapless in this time- squawking and cowering like a chicken in a coop, when the hawk flies overhead.

I am beyond sure that my time will come to stand up and be counted. It will come to each of us, as it has to too many already.

They aren’t * here* yet. But they will be.

Remember the Bundy Ranch standoff in 2014? Or Mahler Wildlife Refuge standoff in 2016? Remember all the photos of armed militia with AR-15s, in some cases literally pointed at Federal officers? Where were Republicans then?

Where are the 2nd amendment pu$$ies? We must accept children being murdered in schools to be able to have weapons to stand up against government overreach. And yet there is no outcry from these bootlickers about “law” enforcement murdering a legally carrying citizen even after his weapon was confiscated. Every 2nd amendment defender who isn’t mad as hell (and vocal about it) can sit the fuck down from now on when gun control is discussed. They have no principles, like most Republicans these days.

JVL- I’ve been thinking a LOT about how I felt during Bush II. I’ve always been a centrist, but when we went to Iraq and half of my high school friends were deployed, I took it personally. I was in a pop-punk band back then, and if you’re so inclined, it expresses my 20+ year ago feelings. Might resonate: https://share.google/VeK12WStvIge9mMRa

I do think it's important to write or call all our legislators. Even if you're in a blue state. I just did this. The key points I underscored:

1) This is a crisis. Act like it! 2) Reach out to anyone who has ever shown the least inclination to defy the Trump regime. Recruit them. 3) No funding for DHS programs without an overhaul of the department. 4) Pass laws to require DHS agents to be unmasked and to adhere to standard police practices for the use of force.

Perhaps there is some echo of history in apple’s 1984 commercial welcoming their pc into the market that their iPhone camera will break a regime.

Milwaukee stands with Minneapolis and with all true patriots. It will take decades to repair the damage wreaked upon our country, our home by Trump and MAGA.
