Literally all conventions were open conventions until 1972. The Democrats had a really bad one in 1968 and now we assume they all will be. It would be a ratings bonanza! It would reinforce the message that we actually live up to our values! Trump wouldnтАЩt be able to get a word in edgewise, and the candidate could run run as a fresh face with new ideas!
