Watching this felt like coming home ❤️ I've listened to Lovett since I was 18 - he is a big reason I got into politics and has helped me accept myself and find humor even in the gloomiest situations. He also introduced me to Tim as a guest on Lovett or Leave It (could have been PSA), which led me to the Bulwark, which reconnected me with the good parts of my conservative/religious past. Can't imagine my life without the Bulwark now. Full circle moment. Thank you, Jon, Tim, Sarah, and everyone who made this amazing collaboration possible 🌈

I thought the best joke of the night was Sarah's, right at the beginning: "I'm the Democracy, and there's the little-d."

That was a fantastic show. I loved the Pod Save format, with some great interviews along with some corny humor and a lot of camp. Thank you for doing that for such an important cause!

FWIW, here's my rant:

Right now, we're all pretty ashamed of our country. I sometimes wonder, if I had a chance to talk to Andry, what would I say on behalf of America?

First, of course, would be to apologize, deeply and sincerely, for what America has done to him. He paid us such an honor by choosing to come to America, not any other place in the world he could have gone. And in response to that compliment, we threw him into a hellish prison out of a Dostoevsky novel.

But I hope he can see that there are people who are willing to go out on a limb and give so generously for a cause we still believe in. There aren't too many places in the world where people (at least some people) still care enough about liberty to fight hard for someone else's — someone they don't know and don't have any connection with. There are good people everywhere, of course, but Americans have a special kind of goodness.

And also, for all we're going through, in America we have the freedom to hold events such as this. As much as that liberty is in jeopardy, it's still here. So I hope you, Andry, will have the generosity in your heart to at least partly forgive us our sins, and see that there is still hope for America.

I like that Jon pointed out the fact that Dems were obviously going to be opposed to T from the beginning; but for Tim, Sarah, & co., it had to be a choice.

Guys, I laughed so hard during your show. Sarah, I just love your laugh, and what good sport you are to take Jon's and Tim's relentless jabs at you and your "peeps." Tim, have you ever considered a little lifting for some upper arm definition? JK, I'm jealous of your slim physique. Jon, you are just hilarioius and a great MC! Honestly, your special guests were so effective, and the chemistry you all had made it such a pleasure to watch. Hope you raised a ton of $$$. Thank you for keeping Andry and others like him in the public consciousness. Bring Andry home!

❤️ A Call to My Beloved Grandparents — Let’s Tell the Truth to Our Children 🇺🇸

Dear Family,

We must help our children and grandchildren recognize the dangerous contradictions in what Donald Trump says versus what his administration does.

📺 On one hand, Trump makes big showings at UFC events—cheering on fighters who are overwhelmingly Black, Latino, Asian, and immigrant—as if he’s a friend to all. Cameras roll. Social media lights up. And he smiles and waves.

But behind the scenes?

🚨 At the very same time, his ICE policies have targeted minority neighborhoods with sudden raids and brutal deportations, even tearing families apart who’ve lived here for decades, working hard, paying taxes, raising children who are American citizens.

Here’s the truth:

Trump’s ICE under Stephen Miller specifically focused on Latino, African, and Southeast Asian communities.

Raids surged in cities like Los Angeles, Houston, Atlanta, and Chicago, where many hardworking immigrant families live.

DACA protections were nearly destroyed. Parents were deported while their U.S. citizen children watched helplessly.

🥊 You can’t claim to respect minorities while using federal power to devastate their homes.

We need to teach our children to spot the contradiction between public performance and policy cruelty.

💔 This isn’t about politics—it’s about decency.

It’s about loving thy neighbor, protecting children, and standing up for those who contribute to this country every single day.

Let’s remind our families:

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 We are a country built by immigrants.

🏡 Minority communities are not pawns in anyone’s political theater.

🕊️ Our values must speak louder than someone’s photo op.

✊🏼 We won’t stay silent while families are torn apart behind the scenes.

Talk with your kids and grandkids.

Ask the hard questions at the dinner table.

Because democracy isn’t just a vote—it’s a voice.

And we will not be fooled by a handshake in the spotlight while a hammer falls in the dark.

In unity and truth,

Clarissa Sr., your American Grandma 🇺🇸❤️
