Trying to follow the workings of this administration is like being on a safari that allows you to observe weird animals doing strange things.

All this makes me feel like we're in a Gilbert and Sullivan operetta without the humor, without the music and as the audience we're stuck here and we can't leave.

Donald is the White Queen of American politics, only without the charm. He's a man who can believe as many as six impossible things before breakfast, who declares "jam tomorrow and jam yesterday, but never jam today!" and imprisons people for crimes they have not yet committed.

Let’s recap: Trump is nuts. Republicans are cowards. Johnson is unaware. Another Groundhog Week

Great analogy, Egger. Really does feel like he's screaming at us from Mars, or something.

The other day, John Kasich “both-sided” sexual abuse and acceptance of bad behaviors on MSNOW. Sorry John. While it goes on in both parties, the dems have historically jettisoned leaders who’ve been exposed of aberrant behavior. Not so with repellicans. Too many cases to cite here, starting with the fatty at the top!

Actually, the entire republican party is now effectively an extended criminal organization. It's in control. It is an inspiration to small time crime figures that demand protection money from mom and pop grocery stores.

Of course Tillis and Cornyn folded. You knew they would. What we don't know is how they were paid off. I don't think that Cornyn's career is over at all. Watch and see where the boys land. It has never been about what the guys say, it's about what they do. Now Pirro could be in trouble. She's not one of the guys and the women have not fared so well under Jabba the Hut.

What a great Morning Shots! Best in awhile imho. From Andrew’s brilliant writing to the joint shots across the bow from Bill and Sarah… just good stuff all around.

His ability to construct his own reality is something I have seen up close before in only one other person, who incidentally was also a successful real estate developer. This does not excuse it of course, and I am obviously not saying all developers are this way. But this ability may be particularly helpful in that sphere

He's allowed to construct his own reality

Big giant surprise here! Who knew the GOP (the moral party, the family party, the "she's not a choice, she's a child" party) would turn out to be all lying, spineless, hypocrites? This administration will have every women "barefoot and pregnant" if they had their wish.

And yet, somehow, the ~35% who continually approve of everything Trump and his henchmen do cannot see any of it apparently.

Actually, they like it.

Have to disagree with Andrew here, at least about his take on Iran. Trump doesn't care at all about the war, the missile stockpile or any of that. At least not as much as The Grift. Here's an excerpt from Trading Economics just now:

"Crude oil fell more than 5% to $76 a barrel on Tuesday, reversing earlier gains as hopes for renewed diplomacy between the US and Iran eased concerns over supply disruptions. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said that there is a chance of a deal today or tomorrow to open the strait. Also, Qatar said a proposed de-escalation resolution was being circulated between the parties. Both Qatar and Bessent cautioned there’s no solid agreement yet. Oil is now down roughly 10% this week after President Donald Trump delayed planned military action against Iran to allow more time for diplomacy."

Especially note the claim "that there is a chance of a deal today or tomorrow to open the strait." That's an absurd joke but the markets and the media seem to fall for it every week. Bessent might as well have said "pull my finger" and they'd all fall for it.

Please, before saying anything about the actual effect of Trump's statements or claims about the real war, please check the price of oil.

Hasn't Miller been accused of violent abuse once before, by one of Trump's former press secretaries? He's obviously a repeat-offender who won't give up his violent ways against women until he kills someone, or one of them kills him, which is how these domestic tragedies usually play out. In the meantime, the testimonial of a wrestling coach who at best turned a blind eye to abuse of minors and at worst pimped his athletes to an abuser may not be the plus Gym Jordan thinks.

Thank you, Andrew. Great take on Major Don. I'm so sick of his horrible Groundhog Days.
