Thanks to Adrian for his invaluable reporting. This, another ICE killing, must be treated by Big Media the way the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti were covered. A good man was murdered in Houston and a cover-up by ICE is already in place. Have the witnesses been disappeared by ICE as suspected? Will we ever get answers?
"He weaponized his vehicle" is the new "I thought I saw him reach for a gun." If you can claim you feared for your life, you can kill anyone. Standing in front of the car (but off to one side so that you can shoot through the window if your victim tries to drive away) is a popular tactic. I hope I live to see every ICE agent responsible for a death, whether it's by gunfire, neglect of medical needs in custody, or abandonment of a victim in cold weather without adequate clothing or any way to get home, indicted, tried and punished.
All of DHS including ICE need to be absolutely dismantled by the next Administration and the agents and officials who condone and commit these acts need to be investigated, arrested and held accountable. Additionally the fact that this man was Mexican and thus, does not get the coverage of Good and Pretti is a stain on the media. I pray that someone has video evidence.
These are the times I feel like vomiting. The man smiling in that birthday picture looks like a gentleman, a proud dad, a loving husband, and an inspiration to his community. His life was stolen from him and those three boys will never have another chance to hear him laugh, or to say how much he loves them. It’s almost laughable that they think we will believe another story about vehicle ramming—do they think we are idiots? My heart is broken for this family, this community, and this country
There were numerous witnesses that we know of and likely others as well. A full investigation that includes interviews with all of those folks is the bare minimum we should expect and demand. An unarmed, non-criminal man was killed!
This nation is so stupid that they don't realize what they ICE are doing is essentially destroying a workers community that builds our homes, grows our food, provides so many services-how ignorant. I would venture that the work application Lorenzo put in only helped target him and provided his own death sentence when he was trying to do the right thing....what cruelty beyond comprehension.......
Remember that murder does not have a statute of limitations. It is incumbent on all of us to ensure these victims receive the justice they were denied. ICE is the gestapo and they should be treated as such. Liberty and justice for all.
In reality without third part videos, such as we saw with the Minnesota killings, likely much harder to generate nation-wide or local iinterest outside of the latino community . Unfortunately Houston is not Minneapolis. Adding to this, the likelihood the passengers will never be allowed to speak out re what happened unless activists and media can suss out where ICE has taken them.
I hope my insticts are wrong and that there are enough people who will resist and reject the white nationalist and racial divide seeking people come the mid-terms……It does not take much marketing to use fear tactics to get uninformed voters to either not vote or be convinced might is right against the "other"
