Those with Hubris never had a good ending in Greek Drama.

Today it sounds like the proverbial SHIT is hitting the proverbial FAN! "HE" truly doesn't CARE, good news or bad news as long as "HE" is IN the news that is his stuff!

"I affirm as my conviction that class laws, placing capital above labor, are more dangerous to the Republic at this hour than chattel slavery in the days of its haughtiest supremacy. Labor is prior to and above capital, and deserves much higher consideration." — Abraham Lincoln

I know I'm annoying, continually banging on about socialism and Marx, but *looks around at everything*

Well, given the record of Marxism in power, maby you should not bang about Marxism so much. It has been a miserable failure whenever tried.

That's like saying, look at the Crusades and the Inquisition, therefore Christianity is terrible.

We disagree on Marx and that's fine. Hopefully you don't think Trump should ship me to El Salvador for thinking Marx got a lot right.

"But of course hubris has been the organizing principle of Trump’s life. And it has now grown into the organizing principle of a White House made in his image."

Sorry to keep picking on you, but at least now you're using passive voice. The obvious question is who made the White House in his image? He couldn't find his way around the White House without lots of help. For that matter, who "made" him win the golf tournament. Millions will literally take bullets for their false god, so surely a few will purposely miss a few strokes to feed his fragile ego.

"And yet, what stands out most about this moment is how truly unbothered Trump appears."

Again, this fixation on Trump. No one on earth is surprised in the least how unbothered he is. What I, and millions of others, can't fathom is how many of his protectors are unbothered. The House and Senate could remove him from office this afternoon if they wanted. Surely every Democrat, and the few remaining patriotic Republican would vote to impeach and remove.

"We’ve been making the same point repeatedly for months now: Once you break it, good luck fixing it. Now comes the big one: Trump is breaking the entire global economy..."

Stop! Trump did not break the entire global economy. 170 million Americans did. The ~77 million that voted for Trump, and the >90 million of eligible voters who either didn't vote, or voted for a 3rd party candidate. Many of them knew what would happen - anyone paying attention did. Many, possibly most, Trump voters WANTED it to happen.

I’m tired of hearing that Trump is going to finally get his. I’ll believe it when I see it.

I think AB Stoddard once said on a Bulwark podcast that the universe conspires in Trump’s favor. He always slips away from true accountability. I imagine he’s a miserable human being but that’s probably about as far as accountability goes until the day he passes on.

Is it any wonder Trump's hubris is hyperinflated? Just look at what he's done over the past 10 years, with absolutely no negative consequence, culminating in the supreme triumph of a return to power, now moving us into authoritianism at record speed. I would be feeling pretty bulletproof as well. I just don't see how we fix this within the existing, established structures and rules of U.S. government.

As usual, Trump focuses on himself. The important thing for him is that he is a winner… at golf. Meanwhile, who cares about the losers….all those Americans who will be badly hurt by his tariffs.

That was before we had fascism. Anyhow, the point is not for the government to get worse. The point is for the economy to catch up with the government.

Didn’t taxpayers fund loans to help musk get his tesla cars on the road ?

Didn’t taxpayers ( in a roundabout way ) fund Trump’s 6 or however many bankruptcies? I’m sure Musk made good on his debts at a pretty decent interest rate and Trump did all he could to make the deals he made make money.

I’m also pretty sure that aunt marge is ENTITLED to the money that she has in her social security account and at a pittance of what these two ( ) your choice, Have cost and are still costing the country and the planet! Big cajones small conscious.

Great idea - a giant military parade. WASTE, FRAUD AND ABUSE. Send in Destroy Our Government Entirely department.

Regarding Trump's military parade, a flock of Vietnam vets should don uniforms and flags, plant in front of the procession and refuse to budge. THAT would be great TV, something Trump loves.

RE: Cheap Shots and "the army of millions and millions of human beings screwing in little screws to make iphones, that kind of thing is going to come to America."

Yep. Just as soon as Trump and his economic team manage to demolish the American and global economy to the point that theoretical physicists are fighting in the streets against high school dropouts for jobs paying USD $1.15 / per hour.

At the rate we're going, the physics guys might want to hit the gym to start getting prepared before too much longer.

The magas are getting everything that has been festering marinating in their sick minds since half wit Reagan thought it would be a good idea ! It took 20 some years for people to figure out the trickle down thing wasn’t working. When you wait this long to get your ultimate fantasy does anyone think for a moment they would hint it was wrong. It’s the same 40 year old play book ! I mean how long has George Sorros been the boogeyman in their closet? Pitiful! And dems can’t figure this out?

Here’s the deal maga people break the law and the democrats take it to the courts ! Law breakers win EVERY time . That’s usa 2025
