Reading about Fuentes's fawning BS for Trump, I have to wonder whether Trump insists his grandkids cal him Mr President. I could see Lara making her kids do it.

Nick Fuentes says we need to have one more election, re-elect Donald Trump, and then stop having elections. THAT is what Trump means when he says Fuentes “gets him”. What’s not to like?

One of TFG’s tells As a general rule, when he says that he knows a lot about something(e.g. epidemiology, military strategy) he knows very little. When he says that he doesn’t know about something (e.g. David Duke, QAnon, and now Nick Fuentes), he knows plenty.

Note that this is a general rule and there are exceptions. When Congressman John Lewis died, TFG said that he didn’t know much about his career. That I believe.

Little Nicky Fuentes, the most vile, delusional, deranged incel imaginable. He's the debased base!

I think we should all take a moment and actually thank Donald Trump for something. Because of him, we have all "met" each other (so to speak), and after interacting here, I'd like to think most of us have come to the point of view that conservatives (and I do consider Charlie, Amanda, and Mona as still conservative--Amanda probably the most) and liberals (Will, to a certain degree JVL and his faint whiff of Second Term Clinton, and Tim--again, Second Term Clinton) can actually have normal not crazy conversations and find areas where we actually can find a certain level of agreement, if not true camaraderie. For that, I think Old Big Boned Orange Man has earned a "Thank you for your service". Having said that, I have exhausted my lifetime ration of Nice Things To Say About Donald Trump....so I will never do it again.

Um, is it me, from all the way over here in Australia, but I thought that to be a leader of the WHITE Supremacist Movement you had to be, um, White? I also thought that the White Supremacist Movement was about the Aryans being genetically superior to all the other colours of the human rainbow? Marjorie Taylor-Greene gets it with her carefully-cultivated blondeness. But Nick Fuentes!?! Just look at his surname and take a good long look at him. He's a spick! With ancestors obviously coming from some country with Spanish or Portuguese origins. And last time I looked, Kanye West was not very White at all to the naked eye. And Michelle Malkin kinda looks Asian to these eyes.

So, Anti Semites, yes. Christian Supremacists, yes. That's obvious from Milo Minderbender's missive above. And I just knew that attention whore would never go away but instead slink into the sewer with the rest of the intolerant bigots. However, I wonder if they all realise that the true White Supremacists are probably sitting by and thinking that they are grateful for these Not Actually White foot soldiers to do all the heavy lifting for them. Because it must also be in the back of their minds that, as history has told us, in the end the actual White Supremacists, after they came for the Jews, came for the Homosexuals and the Blacks. They won't want to share power with anyone they think is a lesser human being. And they do think that but that's just the quietest part they haven't said out loud yet. At the moment they're letting the Useful Idiots make the yards up the field for them, while they sit in the stands and give their thumbs up to those running dogs seeking their approval and seeking relevance.

But if you, Nick Fuentes, Kanye West, Michelle Malkin, Milo Yiannopoulos, Diamond and Silk, Candace Owens et al, don't think that the Trumps and the Marjorie Taylor-Greene's of the world won't turn on a dime and cast you adrift once you are no longer useful to them, then you truly are idiots.

It is a bit confusing that a person of color would align himself with those who think people of color are lesser humans. The KKK killed a black kid once for being accused of looking at a white woman. (A story from my childhood.) I wonder if Clarence Thomas ever thinks about that. There is a lot of strangeness in hatred and power lust, isn't there. Useful Idiots. I'm sure that's what Putin thinks of Trump, too. These past six years have been beyond Putin's wildest anti-America dreams.

Congratulations to Charlie Sykes for predicting that Trump would do something crazy after the running for president mumbles.

Framing of this in the media also demonstrates scant progress over the last 6 years. When will Trump’s gaslighting around his Nazi connections not be reported as possible fact?

It astounds me how they can shout warnings about the threat of the "communistic Democrats," then turn around and shout chants of praise to the Communist in Chief Putin

Well these folks, and their fans, may not be the brightest bulbs in the pack.

None of them know what a conservative is, for example; nor a liberal for that matter.

None of them can define communism or socialism or capitalism or tell the difference from democracy.

What they DO know is that they hate The Other and they hate any group with any "rights" or any privileges they themselves have (or worse, don't have). They are bigoted, racist, misogynistic, proudly uninformed, and quite terrified people who fear those they have been oppressing and killing for centuries will do the same to them when in charge. This is about power. And the use of culture and fear to grab and keep it.

We know this group now as Republicans. But it wasn't always so. I just think the GOP, like SCOTUS, has been irreparably sullied and tarnished and destroyed. It should be cut loose by all people of decent character. Another will arise from its ashes. A Conservative Party perhaps.

But Putin isn't a communist - he's a capitalist, of course, with billions and a yacht (several in fact) and a real man (have you seen him without a shirt [I just gagged!]). That KGB gig was just a ruse on his part to overcome the real commies like the democrats. He (and Orban) are really super duper christians who hate gays and woke and democrat socialist-comunist-fascist and Jewish overlords like Zelensky.

How could Trump remotely say he didn't know Ye was bringing Fuentes? He must have some real winners for Secret Service protection and they apparently do no pre meeting vetting, but then maybe they never did since everyone and their dog seemed to be able to get into the Oval Office.

I often say that "not all Republicans are racist but all racists are Republicans". I'm beginning to question the first part.

Expand full comment

1) I hate agreeing with Ben Shapiro (!), who needs to look up "irony" in Websters. 2) I'm sorry, ex-Republicans, I really am, but as a child of Republican retirees in Florida, Fuentes' comments and positions are the same crap many of the 80s rank-and-file said after they'd had a Scotch or three. Clearly the youngsters learned from their elders.

So be angry, be outraged. But at this point, how can anyone still be shocked?

I’d like to add that he damn well knew who Fuentes is - a dangerous immature racist who obviously knows nothing of religion, God or history, much like his idol, TFG.

Expand full comment

Is anyone really surprised that TFG would be dumb enough to host Kanye who is about as bipolar as you can get? The issue here is that Trump has so much hubris that he thinks he can do and say anything (think “shoot someone and get away with it) and he gets a pass. The overall silence from the GOP is deafening which tells you that how much they still fear this idiot. I can smell the urine they all spilled when this got out. At least Asa Hutchinson had enough guts to call it like it was - that it was no accident. I truly believe Trump is testing to see how far he can go and shame on republicans for letting him do it. You had to laugh that Ivanka tweets out for the US soccer team - like that’s going to help. Please please somebody indict this freak.

I'm not surprised that Trump would host Kanye and Fuentes, but I am continually surprised that Trump's staffing is so poor. I shouldn't be -- he can't be "staffed" in the traditional sense of the word -- but I still shake my head. And of course, the base eats it up.

Thanks, Charlie for yet another brilliant Morning Shots. So, this was my first thought upon reading about Trump’s dinner with the antisemite & Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes.

“Does this man really not know that Jesus was Jewish? As was his earthly father, Joseph? As was his mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary? And as were all 12 of his disciples?” Really?

My second thought was that seeing videos of the immature, ignorant a-hole Fuentes & his cocksure attitude about all things, immediately made me want to punch him in the mouth! In reality I’m a very loving grandmother who hasn’t ever punched anyone, so I’m pretty sure it’s Fuentes’ fault, & I blame him for having a very punchable face. Among other bad traits.

My third thought was, “Why is anyone listening to this 24 year old ignorant doofus, & how is it possible that he has any kind of following?” That question is still bothering me. A lot.
