What an enraging story, I hope Adriana can prevail, in spite of our evil government.

I hope as a country we get the chance that the people making decisions this way can suffer a thousandth part of what they have done. Mercy is greater than justice but justice is necessary for a healthy society.

Horrendous, horrifying and sickening. Yes! Surprising, No! This is the Trump regime. Deliver us from this madness.

How do we help? To whom do we send a donation, which seems so paltry, yet I feel horrible to read what this woman has endured. Adrian, please let us know what we can do.

Of course, if she'd lost to a transwoman in a swim meet, she'd have been celebrated at the State of the Union speech, because that's what really matters. (/s)

I feel physically sick reading this. Thank you for reporting on it. Why is this story not everywhere?

This is horrifying. If she dies, the fascist miscreants in the Trump regime who are responsible for her death will need to face capital punishment under its new policy that expands execution methods for inmates sentenced to death for federal capital crimes.

Horrendous. Thank you for telling this story. What kind of people are we that this is tolerated?

Why is ICE sending anyone to the Democratic Republic of the Congo—not just Zapata, but Afghanistan refugees who helped US troops in Afghanistan. I know Trump thinks he stopped a war there, but the world knows he hasn’t and Genocide Watch is among the organizations that say there is a genocide there. Is ICE sending people there so those people are killed.

Wait! They deported her and yet she is still in detention in DRC and being pressured to get sent back to Columbia? This is monstrous!

I am incandescent with rage over this revolting cruelty being done in our name. Intolerable!

Canadian here. We are happy to take her. No concentration camps in Canada.

I don't think we'd trust you to continue her torture. Embarrassing for me to admit, but there it is.

We are not a free country, we are not a melting pot, we are a company that can purge undesirables at the whims of the cultural winds that the media cooks up for us

Horrific is a mild description. We need to stand up and stop the madness!
