I keep thinking about those honorable French men & women who qualified in Round 1 of the French election to run for Parliament in Round 2, but stood down, because the left-wing party & Macron's party compromised via tactical voting & asked candidates not to dilute the vote, in order to defeat Marine LePen's far right fascist party. In other words, those patriotic men & women stood down for the good of their country.
I too will be very mad at the Dem hierarchy which has been led by Biden. As president, he is the leader of his party. If he steamrolls it all the way to a loss in November, there will be an enormous reckoning in the party.
The thing is whether he stay or goes, trump could still win either way. By enormous reckoning, you mean mean vicious recriminations. If Biden stays and loses, he will blamed by today's naysayers. If he is replaced and loses, that decision will also be blamed. And if the Dems keep the presidency either way, we still can't say it was because of whichever decision. However, that won't stop one faction or the other from claiming vindication.

Something to remember.
