Stephen Miller is Robespierre. Or aspires to be. Except of course the last part.

This is happening very, very fast.

If the Ford Foundation is a "radical leftist" organization supporting terrorism then everyone who has paid for a Bulwark subscription, or a New York Times or WAPO subscription, is on the target list.

And not just Bulwarkers. On August 25 Miller publicly stated that the Democratic party is a domestic terrorist organization. https://www.foxnews.com/video/6377384186112

They are not f-- around. They are serious. This is actually happening.

Meanwhile, though -- let's talk about the football season!

Remember there is a safe, silent, but strong at-home and about-town way to protest too: This is the first day of the economic blackout dubbed Blackout the System, from September 16 to 20. The media won't cover it, but if it makes a dent in their bottom lines the billionaires will care. Encourage your friends, as consumers, to show our power by not spending money at major retailers and chain stores. Do instead use small local businesses, family owned businesses and farmers' markets. You might find some new favorites and send a message with your $... or lack of it pouring into their pockets. For those already protesting, writing and calling representatives and engaging in other forms of active resistance this is an easy add.

“which hates everything that is good, righteous and beautiful and celebrates everything that is warped, twisted and depraved.” This ideology has “one unifying thread,” he added: “the insatiable thirst for destruction.”

This self-aware screed by SMiller is only one of many he's using to spread hate, destruction, as he warps, twists and shouts depravity with every lie he utters. Every time I hear/see him all I see is Edvard Munch's painting The Scream. SMiller is the most destructive person in the WH; trump tries, but doesn't have the firepower of Goebbels; he's not learning from the worst people!

Thank you Mr Kristol for writing in defense of transgender Americans and their rights as Americans. This so often gets lost in all the current culture wars. Beautifully put.

Thank you, Bill Kristol. It needs to be said more often. This treatment of our fellow citizens is indeed reprehensible and un-American.

Meanwhile... Trump says the United States has once again struck a boat in international waters, killing 3 more unnamed Venezuelans.

"'Trump is normalizing what I consider to be an unlawful strike,' said Rear Adm. Donald J. Guter, a retired top judge advocate general for the Navy from 2000 to 2002."

"'The administration has not even seriously tried to present a legal argument to justify the premeditated killing of the people aboard these two vessels,' said Brian Finucane, a former State Department lawyer and specialist in the laws of armed conflict who has written critically about Mr. Trump’s earlier strike. 'The U.S. president does not have a license to kill suspected drug smugglers on that basis alone.'"

Soon we will be discussing Venezuela like we are talking about Gaza if Trump is allowed to continue. There are so many ways in which this regime is messing not just with us, but also with other countries. Here is a piece I wrote about 2 events that you probably did not hear about in terms of this regime and Germany.

The only screen time they get when they are with me is family photos on my phone, and Sesame Street.

When my daughter was young and our city had the International Children's Film Festival we used to take our daughter to see things like Swedish Mama Cow or something like that. There was no conflict, no dialogue, but it was still visually interesting. I thought about how nice it was for children's shows to have no conflicts as part of telling a story. Just a pleasant day.

Sturmbahnfuhrer Miller clearly wants a civil war. He should remember how it turned out for his side the last time and also in WWII.

Thank you, Bill Kristol, for saying loudly and repeatedly that going after trans people is bad and un-American. I am betting most Bulwark readers agree, but it is very useful to say it very loudly and follow it up with actions to actually protect people. Thoughts and prayers are never enough.

I think Steven Miller's outrageous commentary will wear thin, and eventually precipitate a backlash.

let's keep the spotlight on Stephen Miller (odious creature that he is).... when Trump starts hearing that Miller is the most powerful person in DC,it will get back to his ear and then maybe Stephen Miller will be Elon'd for getting too big for his britches

He "apologized" by saying he realizes that not ALL mentally ill people are dangerous. And therefore pehaps he shouldn't have said THOSE people should be put to death. Imprisoned, perhaps, or collected into special camps as Trump has suggested? But not killed. This shows that he is a humane and compassionate person.

He does leave open the question of when homeless and mentally ill people who ARE dangerous but haven't yet injured anyone should receive lethal injections.

Humanity and compassion have their limits.

It is amazing that Bill Kristol seems to be one of the more outspoken advocates for trans rights these days. Others in the pollical and media world need to take note.
