SPEAKER 2
Yeah, and I know that you were on the ground, so I want to turn to that. I was just going to say by way of introduction to that, that I spoke with a young woman who is a graduate student, and she said her father was the emotional and financial backing of the daughters,

and that they all went to graduate school, they all went to college. He's been here 27 years. He's a garment worker. When you start talking 27 years, we're so used to 10, 15 years, 27 years. And now is that they're causing problems. And now is that she was moving heaven and earth to try to see her father.

And it's touching and it's heartbreaking. And it's just a window into what we're seeing now. Jorge, I saw on your Instagram, you did this great job of saying sort of like, I'm back after six months, but I'm also going to show specific stories. Please talk to me about your return. And then, you know,

As I hit play on this interview, I expected it to be a difficult, yet important listen... what I did not expect was to have my heart warmed by two intelligent, fierce yet joyful humans. This was my 1st introduction to Jorge Ramos. Encantada.

OMG! Best ever interview. I had chills of delight at the end. The respect going both ways is so wonderful. Thank you. Will do my heart good for days and days.

And it is so right to hear these matters being discussed by 2 people within the culture that is so horribly under assault.

I learned so much. Great interview, Adrian. Keep them coming. You're damn good at this.

Yeah, bring on Bad Bunny!

This has to be one of the most charming interviews I have ever seen. A jt. interview of Bad Bunny sounds amazing.

Question: is there a way that someone can determine how much Fentanyl is still coming into the country now that zero people are coming over the border? Once and for all we can prove that people coming across are not the ones carrying drugs, if we can determine it comes via trucks at crossings. Then it proves this crazy news is all about bigotry and has nothing to do with drugs!!

I will paraphrase a comment that I left on another post. To my mind I am the beneficiary of incredible luck to have had ancestors who came to this country at a time when immigration was essentially unrestricted. Because of that, I have enjoyed all of the benefits of being a U.S. citizen for 80 years. When I see comments to the effect that the commenter has no sympathy for someone who has been mistreated by the immigration authorities, I wonder if that person is in the same position as I am. It seems to me that many are. If so, they are in effect saying that the victim/detainee deserves no sympathy because they are not as lucky as the commenter. That strikes me as a contemptible way to think about another human being.

This interview was so beautiful and gave me a burst of hope that I honestly can’t explain. Perhaps it was hearing the undercurrent of joyful perseverance in Jorge’s voice as he spoke of Bad Bunny and of his many experiences as a longtime journalist, but I am grateful to have heard this interview. Gracias, Adrian, por tu trabajo en reportando la verdad y investigando todo que pasan con la imigracion.

Separating a mother from her baby as they got off a domestic flight from LA to Miami. Unbelievable.

Well, that’s what Stephen Miller did in Trump’s first administration: separation of children from their parents. BTW where are those children? Did the voters think Stephen Miller was going to change his ideologies? It’s human rights violations.

First Trump administration, you have 77 million who voted for Trump. Then, his second regime, the election was bought by Musk who encompasses Hitler’s ideology.

I loved this. To experience the two different Latino perspectives (Mexico and US Puerto Rico) unfiltered by any non-Latino framing allowed for a special kind of encounter. More please.

My parents would watch Noticiero Univision with Jorge and Maria Elena Salinas and I would catch it as well during dinner. He's the GOAT. A true journalist that makes you proud to be Latino. Glad he's back.
