Judge Merchan's willingness to take one for the team in order to destroy Trump's ability to win on appeal was magnificent. He ate so much . . . guff . . . from his barking-brained defendant that he must have gagged. But he did it anyway by NOT falling into the trap of throwing Trump into Riker's for his antics. Sweet applause for a judge who ran a terrific courtroom.

That's the ability to calmly say "nevertheless" when your client or opposing party (or attorney) is engaging in emotional make-believe and impugning your integrity and professionalism. Thank goodness the judges do not tolerate such antics.

Based on the media reports, Justice Merchan was the model of restraint in managing his courtroom. Bravo!
Grace. Some people have it. Others fling poop.
Judges who fling poop should be impeached.
Heck, I can do both on any given day :-) The judge did well.
I would have thrown him in the clink, which is probably why I am not a judge, or a lawyer.
Sounds like judicial temperament to me.
Wow! You mean like educated, aware, empathetic expertise! How novel ЁЯдФЁЯШБ

Beautifully stated, Jack, thanks.
