And a big plus is his age 77 3/4 years OLD----- and he wants to talk about PRES. BIDEN ?---well he has GUTS and nothing good to say about "trump', oh I almost forgot he's a CREEP TOO. I think said enough about the TOAD d.j."trump"the HUMP!

We all know that d.j." trump"the HUMP! is a lier, a,thief , a crook,is FAT,UGLY,ORANGE,BALDING,a basic no good nick, and LOVES ALL THE ATTENTION HE CAN GET. so the answer I think is not give ANY ATTENTION TO HIM. tell the Media not to give him any attention, that should get his attention and then some.

Yes, there's no reason to interview Trump. He never adapts to reality--instead he desperately pursues his unrealistic, desperate selfish motives.

Ignoring DT is the best plan . It deprives him of the "air" he needs and craves.

I watched both interviews of trump and believe me when I tell you he is just repeating everything he has said since 2015 except now there are election lies mixed in with him using the word fascist to describe his opposition. Clips won’t help because only watching the whole thing one sees how he rambled incoherently with an audience just waiting for trigger words to cheer or jeer. The cult don’t listen either but clips don’t show that.

| These people need to be reacquainted with the reality of Trump.

MAGA loves Trump no matter what he does. Democrats hate Trump no matter what he does. The few, the very few who neither love nor hate Trump don't watch MTP.

The MTP interview was as sound in concept as the CNN town hall earlier this year. Shame about the execution sucking as badly as it did. Welker wasn't prepared, and only a news org lusting after the $$$$ wouldn't have given a rat's ass about ensuring she was prepared.

Coming from a family that to date from birth or marriage has produced 1 BG, 2 Cols, 1 Lt Col, 1First Lt. (me), and several other ranks and being a moderate Democrat I certainly support the military. I also support some firm of mandated service, either civilian or military.

I think it might actually be good that the Democrats and the media are having their freakout over Biden's age now. They can get it over with. A year from now, the issue will be dead, buried, and bulldozed over by the Trump circus.

If the election was going to be a referendum on Biden, there would be a lot more cause for concern. But instead, the election will be a referendum on Trump, because we'll have had months of seeing him on trial and because Trump can't stand to have anything be about anyone but himself.

well Charly, you asked for it, and you get it. If Ruy today thinks the way to get all the people is just to be much more Republican, doing much more what Republicans think is right or serves them, thats really convincing? Does he really think nobody ever thought about things just because they are „liberal“. He really thinks people just dont care, just dont know, just think we swap voters? Where is his evidence for all that? And he compares governors to presidents? Now thats nice and easy, surely as president or candidate they would hide what they think about topics…or would they just be better communicators (which I heard is not important, anyway). Democrats.. all for crimes, all for changing minors sexes, sure. Climate change we have so much time, its not urgent? Well, many scientist disagree with Dr PhD Ruy, but even when its totally fine to see it differently, maybe it makes democrats democrats to take this more seriously. I wouldnt bet on having 50 years to find out. And sure choice is nice, but that doesnt mean you shouldnt incentivice change. If he wants to drag them on every of his pet topics to what he thinks is sensible, well, maybe they just see some things differently and that makes them Democrats. I think you both talked yourself into a frenzy of „democrats just despise everyone not thinking exactly as them“. The union strike, I have read much better analysis on what this is about that than what I heard here. I wonder if any voter can think or do something that Ruy wouldnt approve of. And the millions of democratic voters who just think differently than Ruy, if they are lost, who cares…as their priorities dont align with his, anyway. Take it from me, you can still not despise people and can respect their different opinion and still not change your own convictions. For some things, you can and should compromise and find common ground, for others just not.

Is Biden too old? Even I think so, and I do wish for a better explainer.

But this episode? Just a disappointing „tough love“ session with no substantive solutions offered. In the end Trumps may lies and his not having any positions seems less the problem than Biden having his position. No one can wish voters to his or her liking, but seems they get an easy pass. And thats despising again…

I typically look forward to each day's podcast but I must say that I am rethinking my whole Bulwark experience after listening to half of today's podcast with Ruy Teixeira--don't know who this guy is and frankly don't want to. The conceit of climate change??!!! what??!! tell that to the folks in my state who lost their homes to wildfires, tell that to the folks in Maui--slow down the transition from fossil fuels? who pays this guy? sounds like a rep for sure. and it wasn't trumps economy, it was Obama's that trump just got lucky enough to follow. also I am heartily sick of the whole refrain about how the working class in flyover states are the real true patriots of this country and are the only ones who understand how difficult the "government" has made their lives. Huh, no mention on who they keep electing to represent them. I am also tired of being demonized as a liberal elite because I went to college and grad school. I worked my ass off to do so and got no handouts but some how I am less than these decent hard working true blue Americans that are in the working class. I'm done!!!

Joe Klein wrote "even those—like the military—that they [Democrats] really don’t believe in". Where is he getting this from???. Sure there are some Democrats who probably don't like the military. But as a general rule? The majority? Certainly not Biden. Maybe someone can come up with data rather than inflammatory anecdotes to support what seems to me to be a propagandistic assertion.

Dear Charlie, I agree that Biden's age is a problem with a significant portion of voters. But his age is fixed; it cannot be wished away and no executive action can change his age. Thus, constantly mentioning Biden's age is not a plan to encourage voters to vote for Biden over Trump and to save democracy (at least for a bit longer). So, when wringing your hands over Biden's age, what is your plan?

We may wish that Biden will voluntarily announce that he will not seek reelection, but that has not happened (yet) and may not happen. So, we get it - Biden's age is a problem for many voters. And mentioning this several times a week, week after week, does not change anything (at least, not for the better). People who complain about this are not blind to the issue; they know it; they acknowledge it. Now, give some ideas of dealing with this reality.

Nope, it doesn't serve the Public but we have to have a Horse Race so we can gather more clicks and sell more advertising! I have stopped watching any networks because they are not handling any of this well. I'm tired of hearing "but he's in the race and we have to cover whoever is leading in the race". He is not a serious candidate. He is running so he can "pardon" himself is he loses in Court We all saw what he has done to this country. I wish everyone would acknowledge that and stop treating him with kid gloves. Ask him the hard questions, don't let him off the hook.

"like the military—that they really don’t believe in. "

Since when doesn't the Democratic Party believe in the military. It's not the Democrats who refusing to leadership vacancies because some military personnel read poems, it's not the Democrats that refuse to pay for female service people to get abortions, it's not the Democrats who attacked the Capitol. Maybe this author should go out and talk real people who vote for Democrats. Or talk to Rep. Donald Davis or or Jason Crow or Tammy Duckworth all veterans.

It would be ever so good if the news media would get over needing "hits" instead of needing to relay the important news of the day. I'm not holding my breath of course.

I am only OK with platforming Trump. If the interviewer can handle him. To date, Jonathan Swan is the only member of the main stream press who accomplished that. I guess the point that there is value in reminding the country that he is a sociopathic liar but allowing him to repeat lies unchallenged serves his purpose as he understands repetition, works for him.
