It was bad enough knowing they had rolled out the red carpet for Putin but to see the American soldiers doing it is beyond pale. First humiliating them with that bs birthday celebration parade and now that!! Or why not turn them into ICE agents! But I think that absolutely galls me the most is Trump standing in front of his “give me the Nobel Peace Prize” backdrop was him standing by Putin with his Cheshire Cat grin. He rarely smiles and if there was ever a more inappropriate time this was it!!! Standing with Ukraine!!! 🇺🇦🇨🇦

I have a blue and yellow "flag" that I made with my hp color printer and it's taped to my window. One of my neighbors was outside with her son the other day and she stopped me and asked me about it. I said, yes, I wholeheartedly support Ukraine. She put her hands over her heart and said "We are from Ukraine. Thank you!" I almost burst into tears.

Regarding Ukrainian children, there are also reports that the Russian men are trafficking young Ukrainian girls and brag about the “services” for Russian that could be provided… Truly horrific reports…

Shame,Shame,Shame,Shame, on "Americans" who call themselves MAGA

MAGA is as un-American as Putin himself.

MAGA, a total betrayal of America

MAGA supports, war criminals, the most brutal of fascists, and the kidnapping of 20,000 children in Ukraine

There really is no bounds on the shame and the stain MAGA has leveled on our country.

If you roll the tape again with the sound off, and you just look at the two men standing before the cameras, what do you see? I see two scratch golfers. No, wait. Make that one scratch golfer and his caddie. Yes, that’s it. And…and Trump is NOT the golfer. I rub my eyes and look again. Nope, Trump is clearly not the golfer. There is Putin, standing confidently over his golf ball, in the middle of the fairway, sizing up his next shot, and there is Trump, at Putin’s side, carrying Putin’s golf bag, waiting for Putin to decide what kind of shot he wants to hit, what club he wants Trump to fetch for him. This can’t be right. Trump is President of the United States. Putin is a murderous dictator. I rub my eyes again, but the scene is the same: Putin, making decisions and giving orders, and Trump dutifully carrying out those orders. I lean in, and I see Putin hit a spectacular golf shot and charge off down the fairway, while Trump, bringing up the rear, replaces Putin’s divot, and then hurries to catch up. With the man. With the player.

I agree whole heartedly with the above comments. So shameful. And you know he was sitting there with a load in his pants.

I don’t think this is about trump winning a NPP! I think this is about trump’s unwavering support of Putin and trump’s desire to remake the US in Putin’s image!!! trump has acted the same way regarding Putin since before he was ever president - it is the thing he has been most consistent about!!!

So I really hope you are right about the Europeans “pretending” to still believe in trump.

One thing that is clear is that trump was genuinely excited and pleased to be in the presence of his idol Putin!!!

In the late 1930s a Norwegian populist politician named Vidkun Quisling played footsie with Hitler, resulting later in his WWII role as prime minister and traitor, hence the English word quisling. Norwegians tend to respect their historical lessons. A Trump peace prize would lead to a political earthquake in this very peaceful land. (-- a resident of Oslo and Bulwark member)

Indeed, the Norwegians (where I live) have eyes wide open as they witness low-level sabotage waged by the Russians, now acknowledged by the police; case in point is messing with a dam last spring resulting in tons of excess water released. No real damage, just enough for Russians to show their neighbors what they can do, at will. Similar stories in Sweden where power lines are hacked and there is no reason to discourage belief it's the Russians. The Nobel Prize is a pure fantasy given Trumps numerous threats to war on Denmark over Greenland, not to mention stunts like in Alaska.

All I could think of was Ronald Reagan, which is not a common mind space for me. I was just so struck by the stark contrast between these two American presidents. I was embarrassed and disgusted, but unfortunately, not surprised. Nor will I be surprised when all the MAGA “patriots” hail it as a victory. America’s place in the world diminishes a little every day. It’s disheartening that so many Americans don’t even realize it.

Today in Kyiv, I saw some ceremony honouring Denmark for taking over the Presidency of the European Council. The Danish and Polish ambassadors to Ukraine spoke about supporting Ukraine and mutual security for Europe and other things. Later on there was a magic show with fire works, playing to Joan Jett music.

The Danes make Russia look like a third-world country. Which is bad, because Russia was supposed to be the second-world country in that formulation.

JVL: "Can you imagine what America's reaction would be to...".

Yeah, I've asked this question. I think we should put it to the American people, individually and in their face. If the Russians came into your community, murdered and tortured people, kidnapped your kids, and destroyed not just all the property there, but killed the dogs, cats, and horses, what would you want from the international community?

The media is a failure on this issue. Remember endless footage of the suffering of Israel after October 7th? Where's the wall-to-wall coverage of the suffering in Ukraine?

If we put it to the public like this, there would be a groundswell of support for every possible aid to Ukraine.

Make it personal.
