I am a 55 year old man and I don't think I have ever shopped at American Eagle. I shop the clearance rack at numerous stores for cloths. Neither Sydney Sweeney or Beyoncé are going to make me shop or not shop someplace.
I do think the American Eagle ad was trying to be controversial. When I watch the American Eagle ads I thought "Really dumbasses? Edgelord cringy 'good jeans' nonsense". I rolled my eyes and went back to my life.
Now I see a ton of 50 plus conservatives making videos about going to American Eagle to purchases jeans. So pure performative manufactured reverse outrage.
