Half of MAGA won't believe the denials. I'd sure like to see any evidence of "leftist" violence that equals, or is even is similar to the rampant right wing violence. And that doesn't include the ICE violence on behalf of the right. Please stop making it seem as if right and left wing violence are somehow equal. Any violence is wrong. But I've yet to see left wing violence that compares to that of the right. Over the years, if words can be considered violence, I've been assaulted being called just about everything in the MAGA vocabulary.

If anyone had any doubts about just how unhinged MAGA is, reading this newsletter would disabuse them of those doubts very quickly. But it’s not just the craziness; it’s the “these libtards are out to get us” mentality that is so jaw-dropping.

Confession: While I despise the cult, the only member of it that I (unfortunately) think about daily is the would-be king of it all. And that’s because if you follow the news, he’s impossible to avoid.

So why, why do rank and file MAGAs spend so much time and energy thinking about Democrats? Sure, their media mentions us constantly, but just about all of them have Democrat relatives and neighbors. They know that Democrats don’t have horns and tails. Why are they so quick to believe conspiracy stories? Have they always been this gullible?

RE many rank and file MAGAs knowing individual non-MAGAs who are not the devil incarnate, never underestimate the old standby of "Well, you're one of the good ones". And yes, conspiratorial thinking is addictive.

Will , Thanks for the play by play on the pundit phsyco crowd. They feed chum to the sharks in maga universe because they know they will believe anything. Hell, I'm surprised they even use real events to contort, knowing how many times they fuck up the works. Why don't they just make up the whole story and use AI to push the narrative. The rest of society has better things to do.

The strangest thing to me in all this is that the Treasury Secretary is participating in the whole propaganda silliness. Is he not busy enough in his actual job that he has time for this petty foolishness?

Well, with the government shut down, he DOES have more time on his hands than a normal Treasury Secretary usually would. But in Bessent's case his overall lack of seriousness suggests that if he didn't have enough time for petty foolishness, he'd make the time. Especially if it would please his boss.

Will, you keep diving well into the depths of MAGA insanity. There was the healing TV business, and now this. We worry about you being constantly exposed to such crazy batshittery. Keep your head and be safe!

And keep writing these flabbergasting pieces. We’re there for it.

Wish the right would just put on their red hats, go home and watch FOX and play video games. They can find plenty of "violent" enemies there to vanquish.

Incompetence much? Looking for anything, much less, violence from the Demopublican left which continues to do much too little and much too late is a fool's errand. On the other hand Hitler invaded Poland based on a faked "attack" on a radio station if memory serves.

"Why don't you call me a 'goober' in person?" lmfao Nobody else is reporting this? Thank God I subscribe to The Bulwark. Your newsletter is certainly one of the reasons why! Keep doing the Lord's work!

It's intriguing to discover that there are people who have passed out (or aged out) of the third grade for whom being called a goober still constitutes fighting words.
