Thank you Tim, 100% appreciate your respect for both our law-abiding immigrants (legal or not) and due process.

After watching this episode, I almost cried. The fact that we are allowing roving gangs of masked thugs to jump out of vehicles, attack someone, beat them up, then throw them into a vehicle and drive off is appalling. I have been saying for years that if law enforcement wants the respect of the people, they need to earn it by holding themselves to a standard that is actually higher than what we’d expect from the average citizen.

These guys have the authority to arrest you, and even use deadly force if they deem it necessary. That is a huge responsibility, which requires a lot of extra checks and balances and transparency. Not hidden shadowy figures roaming our streets. If they can’t do that job without resorting to thuggish behavior, then they shouldn’t be in that job. If they feel that that job is too “scary”, then again, they should not be in that job. I know it is a dangerous job, that requires a great deal of skill and training. Again, if you can’t handle that, then you are in the wrong job.

The dangerous consequences of this kind of behavior is that the people will no longer think of law enforcement (any law enforcement; police, sheriffs, FBI, DEA, etc) as a force for good. They will no longer even talk with them, much less help them. Even if it would be beneficial to the people, they will be too concerned about being brutalized to approach the law. I know that I will not have any interactions with the police, unless forced to. And I am an old white guy. I can’t imagine what others who don’t have my “privilege” think about all this.

Let’s take back our country. Let’s demand that these actions stop. I for one will continue to participate in the protests that are occurring. I will keep donating to the various organizations that are trying to help the people. History will look at those who did nothing as being complicit in this disaster.

Rember the quote by George Santayana:

“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”

You're correct on all counts We are on the same side here.. I find the perpetrators' behavior just as abhorrent as you. However it is not known who these thugs are and I would like to know. If they are not ICE, it could be useful to legally challenge their contracts in court by public interest groups if they were improperly contracted and also to prosecute them individually once we return to rule of law, not rule by Trump.

Tim, can you or someone tell me how these "agents" find people who have been here for many years, working, having families, paying taxes, and being law-abiding citizens? Then they are found, whisked away by masked men/women and put somewhere. How are they finding them?

These masked terrorists need to be stopped. This is disgusting, my stomach is turning. I'm horrified every time I see these things. No doubt they were recruited from the j6ers. How ffotus or anyone else can look at this and say it's good work is horrifying.

Goon squad! I’d like to know their recruitment story. Where are they getting these thugs?

Please keep speaking out. Among the chaos, this shocking treatment of immigrants needs to be singled out. Too few voices rising to the cause.

Some research found some coverage via the Washington Post's "ask" feature, stating that law enforcement and immigration is claiming that the man who was beaten had threatened law enforcement and immigration officials with a weed trimmer tool. This, law enforcement and boarder agents are claiming, is what justified their treatment of Narciso Barranco, the man who was beaten. There may or may not be video to backup this claim. At one point in the video frame a power tool designed to trim weeds can be seen on the ground while Mr. Barranco is being beaten.

Sue them in their individual capacities and not as agents of ICE. Allege that their unlawful acts are outside the course and scope of their duties as contractors with ICE. You will avoid any immunity claims asserted on their behalf by the federal government and they will be left defending themselves at their own expense. You might not recover anything, but you’ll take them out of commission as a contractor. A few of these lawsuits getting some publicity could have a serious dampening effect on the goon squad labor pool.

What we see is horrible. Yes it is important to know the entire story so we can begin to understand what we are seeing. All that the video has shown to me is a person being handled in a manner which appears to be very brutal and very rough, if not very violently. It may appear that the man beset by 3 or 4 others is seen from time to time to be resisting being controlled and resisting being forced into a car. The content of this clip shows the individuals in mid struggle apparently punching the man in the head, brutally and violently handling the man to a 3 or 4, on one, ratio,

and repeatedly trying to restrain this man.

We do not see what happened before this scene. We must, if we can, find what the full story is. If the full story is that the men in combat gear simply jumped out and started to physically handle and beat this man, then their actions are not legal.

I would have resisted if these thugs were trying to put me in a car too! You would have no idea where you could end up South Sudan? Djibouti? The Supreme Court made that legal. How horrifying.

Horrible what this video reveals. Scary that these men attacking this man are fellow americans. History, some say, does not repeat itself. I think history is living within all of us and does reappear just with different familiar cards arranging differently but telling the same story about a part of us reemerging with malice. These men taking this man down are willing to do the job they were assigned to do. That is scary to me to witness. Thank you Bulwark and Tim for bringing this to our attention. You all are doing very painful work for us to be informed.
