As a result here is what I often hear "well damn if you would just let us drill baby drill we'd have $1 gasoline and then we wouldn't need those environmentally disastrous EVs with their toxic metals for transportation." The structural flaw is that if you don't understand that burning fossil fuels is wrecking our planet, insurance markets, and our livelihoods, you're always going to argue "why change my vehicle or my home systems, just make the inputs cheaper...and Trump will do that."
