Totally agree with you David! The whole "regime" needs to be shut down. If they don't want to follow the rule of law, maybe they need to be indicted again and again until they realize the error of their ways. I truly believe the regime has gotten in to power purely for revenge and giving tax breaks to his wealthy colleagues! Nothing more and nothing less. If he doesn't care about the rest of us and our needs then he shouldn't be in the position he's in.
I’m pretty sure Harvard has plenty of alumni who donate big bucks. They didn’t get to be as big as they are without knowing how to finesse fundraising.
To Khanna has been a member of congress for about 15 minutes. Before that he was some kind of tech dude. It lacks political savvy, but has no shortage of ambition and arrogance in his opinions. If Hogg is going to devote resources into promoting dem challengers, Khanna’s seat would be a good place to start. He’s right up there with Gavin Newsome in his skewed and opaque views on the current political climate. I hope smart people can see this.
This rightly shows how poor Newsom’s political instincts are. In his desperation to become the democratic frontrunner, he has simply displayed himself to be more politically ambitious than morally clear. At a time when Americans crave moral clarity and courage, Gavin has stepped on a rake. I admittedly never liked him, and found him to be shallow and slick, but I’m glad to see he is now showing everyone who he really is. It’s not pretty. Fortunately, there are lots of better, stronger voices emerging that can fill the void, including those who occupy this space. Thanks guys.
Gavin Newsom - never did like the guy. He's one of those guys where there is just something about him. Can't quite put it into real words, but just know it's true.
He's not wrong. It has taken the eye and attention off the more destructive actions of DOGE. At least cover both. And DOGE is deep in the immigrant surveillance game among other things. So discussing both would seem pretty easy rather than ignoring DOGE completely.
And as an elder GenX anyone younger than me would be a welcome change. The Dems are so vey out of touch.
"Gavin Newsom is a classic example of a well-connected West Coast elite: born into privilege-adjacent circumstances, elevated by powerful family friends (especially the Gettys), educated in elite institutions, and polished into high office through a mixture of good looks, moneyed support, and social agility. Any populist trappings are more aesthetic than structural."
And here I thought he was a male model who happened to get lucky.
Newsom has misread the moment. People will not rally around politicians who are carefully charting a course to the White House. Right now people want politicians to fight for what’s right even if it means political suicide. The careful politicians who did not want to sacrifice their political ambitions are what got us Trump. Van Hollen has a better chance of being president than Newsom.
Somehow a horse's ass in a governor's suit calling everyone else *perfect sheep* when he ought to be calling out the fascist actions of Trump and his administration for what they are really doesn't land all that well with me, Gavin.
A "disctraction"? Really?
I've never thought much of you to begin with, ol' buddy, but I don't live in California, so you're not my problem. And if your party is smart, they'll keep it that way by not letting you within a country mile of a run for the presidency in '28. Unless they really do just want to stick with the same M.O. when it comes to 2 of their last 3 candidates who've run for the office.
"You know, those that believe in the rule of law are defending it. But it’s a tough case, because people are really—are they defending MS-13?"
He is right. Trump did this on purpose to force the Democrats to fight for the rights of gang members and criminals to stay in the US. It's so obvious. He didn't take a bunch hotel maids or farm workers, construction workers in Texas, because then he would look like a monster. But gang members? To his supporters and even some Democrats it does not matter. But most of the Democrats, falling into a trap of defending really bad guys. It makes them look stupid.
I disagree with the heading. It is meant to be a distraction to keep people not paying attention to what is happening with Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, contined Russian aggression, and chipping away at the Judical System.

The only way to defeat Trump/Musk is to vote Republicans out of office;
1. Hold anti-Trump/Musk demonstrations in front of the local offices of Republicans.
2. Defeat Republicans who can be beaten:
SENATE- Dan Sullivan-Al, Joni Ernst-IA, Susan Collins-ME,
John Cornyn-TX, Thom Tillis-NC, John Husted-OH
HOUSE: Derrick Van orden (WI-03), Ken Calvert (CA-41), Young Kim (CA-40),
Jen Kiggans (VA-02), Tom Barrett (MI-07), John James (MI-10),
Scott Perry (PA-10), Robert Bresnahan (PA-08), Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06),
Ryan Mackenzie (PA-07), Zack Nunn (IA-03), Gabe Evans (CO-08),
Don Bacon (NB-02), Mike Lawler (NY-17), Tom Kean Jr. (NJ-07),
Nick Begich (AL), Monica De La Cruz (TX-15), David Schweikert (AZ-01),
OPEN (MI-10), Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-01)
Tall order David but if we could get rid of even half of them to begin with it would be a start. Heck I would take an Independent over a Rep anyday!

Note that David Sacks was one of Khanna's big backers. Khanna needs to publicly explain his current relationship with Sacks and other techbros.

Kristol's update suggests that the demolition job on Newsom is unfair and, perhaps unwise (at this point).

Only 10-20% of people we throw into foreign gulags are innocent!

Well, Newsom's position on this might indeed be political suicide. Certainly not a feather in his cap, in any case.

Like they say these days... so much winning!!
I seem to remember an equally inspiring appeals court ruling in the Trump immunity case. How’d that work out at SCOTUS?
"You know, those that believe in the rule of law are defending it. But it’s a tough case, because people are really—are they defending MS-13?"

So he’s not an advocate of due process lol? Traitor.
I'm going to do my best not to attack Democrats, until this particular demagogue is past. But: applause for Van Hollen!
