To the list of "Honorables"---why didn't we see this in November of 2020? Too late.

What is it about Ari Fleischer? People like Elise Stefanik and Lee Zeldin (you know where I'm from) sound grasping and greedy, but not stupid. Ari sounds like he's been dropped on his head. You know him and I don't, so what's the deal?

I think people need to distinguish between Trump announcing he's running for president and his actually running for president in the end. It was always 100% chance he would announce he's running for president. But I think it's at best 50/50 he actually makes it to the Iowa caucus. Chuck Todd put it best. Running for president is work and Donald Trump doesn't like work. One thing that does tilt in favor of his actually running is if he thinks he might get prosecuted

Remember DEMs, mail-in ballots are not going to be a thing in 2024. Better get to work distancing yourself from all that critical theory stuff. I hope REPs keep tagging you with it, because clearly it is embedded in your DNA now.

And e-gad you sure have made it easy for a Trump return.

Charlie, You’ve got to think like a Mafia Don! The announcement is a all about witness intimidation.

Has anyone pointed out that 1/6/23 would be the two-year anniversary, not the one-year anniversary?

Loved today's Morning Shots. Great to see your dad! What an asswipe you turned out to be, Ari.

Yes, of course he's running . . . I agree, but it is still the worst news. He is going to win the nomination and then he will win the election, either fairly or unfairly--even if he wins fair and square, I see no scenario where he will win the popular vote, and I am not sure that the left will accept it this time because Trump has tainted the system so much and has shown his willingness to steal the election already. I think there will be violence, this time coming from the left, but stoked and exacerbated by the extremists on the right . . . then martial law. I think this alternative works for the extremists just as much --might even be what they are going for. Am I catastrophizing?

I know I shouldn’t wish for it and don’t. Que sera sera. The thought of Trump against DeSantis in both the primary and then as an independent candidate would be fascinating, tho. 😮

Agreed Jeff. I doubt that Nixon would’ve resigned had there been a Fox News network back then. They create their own reality which is willingly scarfed up by tens of millions who quote it every day! There’s no agreement on what’s real & true. Thanks Fox!

I got very frustrated when arguing with my buddy about Trump & GOP. Every time I tried to go down the path of "we need to agree on the truth"...it just seemed he didn't feel that was as important as I did.

It retrospect, it probably makes sense in that they 100% are convinced they have the truth and why waste any time discussing it. Or something to that effect anyway....

Right on…they get the news from their sources, me from mine. BUT, their talking points seem much better rehearsed than mine. Names come up in slurred tones, like “Nancy Pelosi”, “Adam Schiff”, “AOC”, and an all-time favorite, “George Soros”. I confronted a friend about his source for all of this, and his response was “F U”. End of friendship. One or two word phrases like “Keystone Pipeline” and “woke”. We’re not as narrow in our viewpoints, methinks. And their propaganda runs deeper, and is more consistent than what we view, read, or listen to. I believe, and maybe I’m wrong, that we read more, listen more, and reason through things more than they do. So much fear of losing rights, wealth, position & power are propagated. Guess I’m just not so fearful as they are. It’s where they live, and why the Fox viewership is high.

Spot on. There's a bit of laziness related to their viewpoint. Sort of the Fox motto of: "We do the thinking so you don't have to"

It's easier for them to think things are always black or white...because gray is very uncomfortable to them. It's uncomfortable for me too, but I refuse to choose black or white because of it.

Is Ari’s math bad or is it mine? Isn’t 1/6/23 the 2 year anniversary?

Ever the party loyalist, eh Ari? Appeal to Trump's stupid ego to get him to avoid torpedoing the midterms for his enablers.

After all, what's a lifelong creature of the Republican swamp to do? Appeal to Trump's reasonableness? Emphasize the good of the party? He knows Trump has about as much concern for the Republican Party as he does his children and family, and everyone that ever thought themselves a "friend,". They exist as a vehicle for his self-aggrandizement and a poultice for his ever-wounded pride. If they aren't going to serve that purpose, they can sit in the corner with Tiffany until he calls on them.

Trump running would endanger the GOP's hopes of taking Congress in November. The last thing the GOP needs is trump reminding voters of how irresponsible and crazy the GOP has become. Personally I would never vote for these folks because it is quite clear to me that most of them are too craven to be trusted with elective office, even dog catcher.
