Personally, I am not a fan of battery electrics. I'm partial to hydrogen fuel cells. Battery electrics will ultimately stress a grid that needs to be massively upgraded...and that requires money, and utility customers don't want to pay for that. In my mind, FCVs are a better long term bet--energy companies can go in with utilities like Duke Energy to potentially co-locate hydrogen plants with nuclear power stations so that some of the output can be used on hydrogen production...it may be easier to put a hydrogen fuel station right outside the Uwharrie National Forest than run power lines into the place. Don't even get me started on aviation...

Just a thought.
