It feels like the zombie apocalypse. The Republican party has succumbed to the corrupt brutality of Trumpism and is promoting and enabling the superspreaders to infect everyone around them. Brutality breeds brutality.
My understanding is that some of these ICE dummkopfs are military boot camp washouts with very low IQs, along with them being mentally unstable.
They are wannabe law enforcement officers as opposed to real ones and, hence, are unworthy of being treated respectfully. Of course, physical violence should only be used in self-defense in a democracy and no one has the right to ever break the law outside of civil disobedience in a democracy.
This ICE Gestapo needs to be officially designated as a terrorist organization and abolished immediately before its agents’ moral depravity leads to anyone else getting hurt or killed.

I read a while ago that authoritarian governments usually have a distinct police force that exists to do the regime's bidding, and the officers are people who may have wanted to be "real" police but could not make the force due to attitude, education, ability, or past history. A side effect is that the officers are compliant with demands on the force because it may be the only well-paying job they can get.
Wow. I lived in a boys’ high school dormitory for years and we got good kids. But I can confirm that boys do mature more slowly and an 18 year old boy is very much a work in progress. Attracting some of them with access to cash, weapons and the opportunity to catch “bad guys” seems destined to lead to impulsive behaviors and take downs. This will hurt the immigrants captured by ICE but also young people at a formative age.
As for young women applicants, I wonder how many will apply? And what their motivations would be? As a mother & grandmother, my instinct is to offer aid & comfort. It’s hard for me to imagine a woman wanting an ICE job but yet some obviously do.

People who assume secret identities in order to fight crime don't have automatic moral superiority over masked law enforcement.
