I have never been more proud of Israel. Anyone who believes in liberal democracy, the civilized world, the entire post-enlightment project ought to be proud as well. The Obama Admin approach to Iran was an obvious mistake. The JCPOA was an obvious mistake. If DJT had not pulled out of it, Iran would be the precipice of a nuclear weapon today by having stayed WITHIN the guidelines of the JCPOA as even Obama admitted they would be at the end of the JCPOA. The bet the JCPOA made is that the Iranian Regime would lose their genocidal ambitions. That was a bad bet. The max pressure campaign in Trump 1.0 was clearly better than the Obama approach. However, when Biden (who I voted for) came into office, they rejected the max pressure campaign that had been working and dusted off the Obama approach attempting a reproshma with Iran. That again failed which in part led to Oct. 7 as Iran was able to further support its proxies
Now Israel has taken the bold and correct step to stop Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and using it to threaten Israel with a final Jewish genocide. The only folks who are unhappy are the ones who want to see the only Jewish state week and undermined by Iran’s genocidal ambitions and shame on those people for their moral failure.

The recent article in The Atlantic (Playacting at SecDef) coupled with what I saw in clips of his congressional hearings this past week, tells me we’re in serious deep shit with this dunderhead in charge of the Pentagon. Moulton is an articulate, intelligent and authentic a person you'd ever what to meet and talk with. His insights in a plethora of areas is breathtaking. He is a voice of reason in an otherwise all too self centered world. I feel bad for him. He goes home after a rough day on the hill and just must beat his head against the wall after having had to deal with the incompetent fools on the other side. Great discussion. I watch many of the hearings on CSPAN and Cong Moulton is among the many who shine in their area of expertise. He sounds more qualified to be Sec of Def than the person who presently occupies the position.
Moulton's WAY more qualified. But I always have to remind myself Heg's there not because he's competent, but because he's not. He's there only to loyally do whatever Trump tells him at DOD. No amount of hearings, and exposing his utter incompetence will get him canned because Trump will protect him, if there's ever any fight about it.

Bill, I wish you had added this ironic detail when you recalled how different Cheney’s firing of generals was, during your time in the Bush Administration, particularly given Hegseth’s alarming refusal to answer Rep. Moulton’s very basic questions in the hearing: how many and why? When Cheney fired U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff Dougan, one of the reasons was the latter’s having publicly blabbed about sensitive info regarding military ops and possible targets of air strikes in Iraq—a bizarrely analogous offense to Hegseth’s in Signalgate.

I write to thank you Bill for having Rep Moulton on your program today. As a former U.S. Marine officer who is a 100% disabled veteran of the U.S. war in Vietnam, I am outraged at the words and actions of our draft dodging president. And, as the husband of a wife who has survived esophageal cancer owing to the availability of newly researched immunotherapy, I despise Trump's ignorance based positions on science in general and cancer research in particular.
I spent much of the past week trying in vain to get a message to the Commandant of the Marine Corps. I left messages at every USMC telephone number I could find urging the Commandant to remember that he is only required to obey LAWFUL orders and to urge him to stand up to coward trump and say "NO" to deployment in LA and elsewhere in the country.
The very best way to conquer your fear in this fascist assault is social association--physical association. People who show up and participate in a protest are powerfully affirmed, their fears concordantly diminished. Note that the key concerns and the resultant key tactics of the fascists are to threaten you daily to feed your fear, and to simultaneously attack physical participation in protesting with an excessive, highly dramatic over-play of a faux-concern response. They play loudly they are protecting good people and general peace, but they know protests are inimical to their fear-mongering. If they lose their ability to inspire fear, they are done in and they know it.
