That should be the focus of every newsletter and editorial. This court has gone way beyond being extremist. They are so arrogant and corrupt that they feel they can totally disregard the most basic texts of the Constitution. The six crazies want to give all the power to their billionaire backers. Trump is just their lunatic dancing bear. Biden may be aging in place, but Trump has become a deranged serial killer. If he is elected he will use his power to destroy everyone and everything that bothers him, and this court will back him every time. We are already entering the age of Stalin in the US. Many of us who write things critical of Trump and the court on this forum will be in danger of prosecution. That's what presidents can do.
You are 100% right. I just read on CNN that Trump has said he will hold military tribunals for Liz Cheney. And then Biden. What the fork! This should be terrifying and should be on every news station. If he gets elected, we're done. Where is riot when you need one.
He could arrest Trump for being a felon and encouraging riots. And he should be forbidden from running for office. Throw him in a maximum security prison. Let the SC do something about that.

I've been giving that a lot of thought. Even though everything we say here is completely legal, simply speaking our mind based on Constitutional guarantees to that end, can we be held liable after the fact for our words if retroactive justice becomes a thing? At any rate, if DJT wins and starts making good on his promise of snuffing out opposition, I suspect it's going to get very quiet in these pages, as early as November 6. And understandably so.
What the decimated Supreme Court did to us yesterday is F*cking horrific - Is anyone going to organize a massive protest? I’m 70 and just finished chemo and it’s not an undertaking for me, but we desperately need some groups who care about democracy enough to get us off our butts. Black Lives Matter was a good example of what should be happening now. We need to respond en masse to these farcical, newly created rules fit for a King that are unconstitutional led by a far right runaway Supreme Court. If we start holding protests, I for one, will drag myself there repeatedly, if it’s the last thing I do.
I keep thinking about his use of the Insurrection Act. Who would stop him from this? Certainly not SCOTUS. They would consider this part of his core responsibilities.
In the twentieth century, as in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, wouldn't the Trump acolytes and most of the leadership of the Republican Party be called "counter-revolutionaries"?
That's the appropriate term for those in the first quarter of the twenty-first century who are engineering a return to autocracy.

What are some official acts that Biden could now take? I'm asking about right now, not in some hypothetical future.

He has all the evidence that was found by the Jan 6 committee. That could take a while to unravel. We know he's guilty. He's our 21st century O.J.

I prefer the phrase "Tories." https://youtu.be/ukfNXFgUEiU?si=WFXaVHYBoY6qmR4L
Well said and thank you! I don't understand how people fail to grasp that.
