Interesting article, but the every Dem is on Substack story can't be told without the fact Substack is increasingly becoming a haven for legacy media journalists popular among Democrats fired from their jobs or gambling they can go independent without having to deal with the editorial straight jacket at places like CNN.

Increasingly elected Democrats will trade a 10 minute interview on CNN for an interview with Jim Acosta or Don Lemon or The Bulwark since more and more Dems are cutting ties with legacy media.

It should be mentioned that Substack does have a black mark -- a few years ago a wave of left-leaning newsletters left for other venues in response to Substack management's reported resistance to dealing with neo-Nazi content.

Investigative reporter Marisa Kabas was a leader in that movement: https://thehandbasket.substack.com/p/substackers-against-nazis

If Substack does become the go-to place for aspiring Democratic leaders, I would imagine that they will be asked to weigh in on the ethics of using the platform. I have not seen this topic come up at The Bulwark.
