The article on Joe Biden was so good. I think it gets lost when people criticize Biden as it being an all or nothing approach. I don't particularly care for most of the analysis of why he shouldn't have run because the reasonings are not well founded. But there are reasons why the election could have turned out differently and where Biden misstepped. And this covered it more accurately than most discussions I have seen.

This contents list is very useful, gives me a chance to see what I missed. It would be good to have some way of bookmarking shows I want to listen to, pieces I want to read or reread. I'll have to see if I can set something up, and this newsletter is a great help.

Bulwark

Can you read all the threads that go with this article?

There are some pretty bad harassing responses that are very unnecessary .

I would think every speech that he made on his Middle East “tour of corruption” ( as someone put it ) could be used against him in an impeachment trial to remove him from office for violation of his oath, violation of the amendments and all its clauses of the constitution that he was supposed to faithfully uphold, defend and protect against foreign enemies.

I LOVED Mona's column and thank her for the courage to state it. I share that same fear and subsequent anger that unless the stove does indeed burn the hands of the Trump voters, we won't get to where the country needs to go. Trump does have those feral "I must be seen as the greatest ever" instincts that battle with his just general stupidity, which is what the tariffs represent. It is a conundrum because many will suffer, but I will hate it if Trump goes unscathed, or not as scathed as he should be. THANK YOU MONA.

How can we, the current and future Americans survive? This is not limited to an ( intentionaly)bad president and his staff - totally unchristian, irreligious in every aspect. There is an entire ROTTEN culture and ideology supporting/ believing in their 'policies'. The ideals based on a common good and values supported via higher spiritual perspective are no longer visible. They are even ridiculed. The institutions that make a people's and nations great are weak and compliant, including faith based ones.

Trump's big ugly bill will not sail through Congress, and we can have an impact on it. There are ways to put some roadblocks in front of this bill. All is definitely not lost. We need to take advantage of Republican infighting.

Kathleen, I agree.

Here are some ideas that we can do to help put roadblocks in front of Trump’s budget bill:

1. Call your Representative and Senators every day.

Donald Trump and Republicans are selling us out to make billionaires like Elon Musk even richer. They’re trying to ram through Trump’s tax scam—handing billions to the ultra-wealthy while slashing health care, food assistance, and other programs that everyday Americans rely on to survive.

We can’t let them get away with it. Take our pledge to fight for Medicaid and SNAP, and we’ll keep you updated with ways to take action on your home turf.

2. If you can, protest in front of the local offices of your Representative and Senators.

I attend the weekly Wednesdays at Bernie’s (Moreno) from noon to 1pm. We know the local staffers count how many of us attend and read our signs. Many downtown workers do the same as they drive by on their lunch hour.

3. Spread the word about the budget and the funding and tax cuts it includes.

Indivisible has a Neighbor to Neighbor program where Indivisible provides 5 names and addresses of like-minded neighbors who may not be as informed. Let them know so they can consider if they want to join in calling Congress, protesting and continuing to spread the word.
