It is probably politically wise of the Republicans not to say much. And you know? It isn’t their job to respond to Trump’s every fit and start. If they went down that road they’d spend every conversation with journalists, mainstream journalists, on Trump. If they’re trying divest themselves of him and his influence there is no value …

If they’re trying divest themselves of him and his influence there is no value to the GOP politicians to be talking about any of it. Anything else continues to tie them closely with him.
If they don’t mention his name, perhaps. I just see no percentage for them in commenting on any outrageous thing he says because he’s not going to stop. Trump does not give one Diety damn about the Republican Party and certainly not our country. It’s all about himself.
If you listen to the Focus Group even his Trumpsters and Trumpsterettes do not want him to run. Ignoring him is GOPs best bet to fade him out but retain some of his following.
That said, their feet should be held to the fire on this. He isn't some cranky old man yelling at clouds. He's the most recent GOP nominated President, he is running again, and he's got the endorsement of sitting members of the GOP house majority, including leadership.
If they want to dismiss him as someone who's gone round the bend into a bizzaro world of supporting anti-semites and calling for the dismissal of the Constitution, okay. After that, they can ignore him. There are plenty of people that can be ignored by both sides when convenient because of not really being that important, or representative, or whatever. DJT isn't one of them. They own him (as he owns them) until they make a very public split.

Yes, well this is major league stuff, not every little fit and start. I mean, can they at least say trying to subvert the constitution is bad?

Sadly, I think you are right.
