I find that whenever he ventures from ideology to practical politics I have never seen a smart thoughtful person be so very very wrong. He not only gets cause and effect wrong but he also is so connected to the Republican ecosystem that he can never see things for what they truly are. Before Trump, I believed a lot of what he said and mused about. What I find so infuriating about him is that after 10 years of Trump he has yet to actually do the intellectual exercise about how he could be so so so very wrong.
In the age of Trump I feel like he is money connecting random dots and then saying “yes yes yes, this fits my theory from 2010!!!”
