It's hard to put in words how grateful I am for everyone at the Bulwark. The past few years have been very difficult for me in the sense that I have seen friends and even family fall victim to MAGA- a movement which is so clearly in my eyes a complete fraud. One of my favorite movies is The Shadowlands, about C.S. Lewis. One line from that movie that always stuck with me was "We read to know we are not alone." I feel that way about being part of the Bulwark. It is easy to feel alone politically, and it is nice to belong to a group of good, rational people.
Great quote. I characterized this group, including the people I met at the LA event, as people who like to read and write, and, what most surprised me, how well people were listening to each other, interested in each other.
